Kirby Posted October 28, 2012 #26 Posted October 28, 2012 I use the Carquest Premium filter. If I remember right, Wix makes the Carquest filter. Cant remember for sure where I read it though. I like Wix filters, If I dont use factory filters on my farm equipment, I use either Wix or Baldwin. Both are really good filters. If I trust a 100,000 tractor to a Wix, I'll trust my RSTD to it as well. I've been using the Purolator since WalMart quit carrying the SuperTech brand. I have noticed though that they also carry Bosch as well as the Fram. Not a big fan of Fram since I found out about how they are made.
bj66 Posted October 30, 2012 #27 Posted October 30, 2012 Just used a purolator on my Ford pickup. I didnt feel like driving across town to get the Car Quest last time. But I do use The Car Quest Premiums on my bike. Only filter I have used since the bike was new.
Bvinson Posted October 30, 2012 #28 Posted October 30, 2012 Add the Bosch 3323 to the list. It is a longer version and offers more filter media than the 3300. As of 1999 Purolator has made the following brands. Bosch, Motorcraft, PowerFlo, ProLine, Purolator Premium Plus, Purolator Pure One, Quaker State
k9cottage Posted October 31, 2012 #29 Posted October 31, 2012 While in NC, I stopped in at Wheelers on US 129. He was selling Flo reusable filters. A little pricey but over time could be worthwhile. If there any good?? Has anyone tried these? http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/14/70/944/19141/ITEM/PC-Racing-FLO-Spin-On-Oil-Filter-With-Housing.aspx i am using the flo filter have about 3,000 kl on it sofar will know when i take it off for it's first clean but all looks good sofar and i like getting it off with a ring spanner
N3FOL Posted October 31, 2012 #30 Posted October 31, 2012 Another Purolator filter user here. I prefer the longer PL14610. Walmart has the best price for the Filter in our area.
hunter 1500 Posted October 31, 2012 #31 Posted October 31, 2012 Used Emgo for years but have been using the Carquest brand made by Wix. Emgo were rated pretty good and Wix is a good brand.
