If it was me, and I do some odd stuff with ABS, I'd cut any and all intact mounting tabs and flanges off with a bit to spare and hang onto them. I've had to fabricate shattered tabs with some decent results but I prefer to spice the intact tab or flange back on by laminating it back onto the body with thin strips of ABS sheeting.

 

But that's just me. Ya never know when you might need to do a repair.

 

Sorry to see you didn't have much to work with after your accident.

I agree. I have had to fabricate some of the tabs and stuff. It would be easier just to plastic weld originals on when needed. Also keep some of the ABS plastic to use when welding. It is used as a filler.

My left front fairing actually consists of two good halves bonded together with plastex and reinforced with fiberglass drywall tape on the inside embedded in more platex. So far no one has been able to pick out were I spliced the joint, so for all intents and purposes it is as good as new.

Final answer . . . . keep them you never know. :thumbsup2:
