camos Posted March 1, 2012 Share #2 Posted March 1, 2012 My Venture pretty much lives in the rain for several months at a time so the clutch lever starts squeaking on a regular basis, every two to three of weeks or so. A little engine oil seems to fix it for a while. I think the lever pivot bushing on mine is somewhat worn and should be replaced since it will drop out of cruise control when we hit a bump. Also some times it is necessary to hold the lever out to get the cruise engaged.
eusa1 Posted March 1, 2012 Share #3 Posted March 1, 2012 Remove the clutch lever. All you need is a ten mm wrench and regular screw driver. You will find a small brass fitting that will remove from the lever. Clean and lube and reasemble.. at times that brass bushing will need replaced. It will get worn and distorted at times. Its a ten minute job at best

rickardracing Posted March 1, 2012 Share #5 Posted March 1, 2012 Mine squeaks every once in awhile too. I just lube it up. I fixed it permantly by installing Samson pipes. Can't hear it squeak anymore.
djh3 Posted March 1, 2012 Share #6 Posted March 1, 2012 Probably wouldnt be a bad spot for a touch of the moly lube you guys put on the splines on rearend. It shouldnt leave the area as fast as say WD 40 or silicone or reg grease. Maybe some copper slip or anti-sieze?
rod Posted March 3, 2012 Share #7 Posted March 3, 2012 Put a dab of grease where the lever meets the plunger and oil the rest. Rod
