Sideoftheroad Posted February 4, 2012 Share #1 Posted February 4, 2012 Want to connect my laptop that has a VGA, USB, hdmi, and maybe a FireWire ports. Since your TV has a s-video plug you can buy a VGA-to s-video cable real cheap. You can extend the desktop, mirror the display, capture video from the computer to an external recorder, or record external analog or digital video onto the computer, and sometimes do many of the above simultaneously. I am getting into the r/c world so someone let me borrow their sim software to practice with until I get an airplane. I would much rather see it in a tv vs a laptop. I bought it about 6 months ago so it should be a current product. I use it to connect my onld CRT TV to a PC dedicated as a home entertainment PC. You'll have to play around with the unit to get the best picure. The instructions are poor. Yes, I know it seems pointless with an old TV but I can stream movies, record local tv, and access internet radio stations all in on unit. The unit cost $32.49.
