SC89Venture Posted August 31, 2010 Share #1 Posted August 31, 2010 Got brave today and removed the side panels, tank cover, and seat. When I removed the seat, found this plug on the left side of the bike. Any idea what it is for? Thanks in advance, Don

GeorgeS Posted August 31, 2010 Share #3 Posted August 31, 2010 I think this plug might be for some junk that the Calif. bikes had installed.
Snaggletooth Posted August 31, 2010 Share #4 Posted August 31, 2010 I thinl George hit it. We have seen that plug before, CA models had some sort of recovery cannister on it.

DBOB Posted September 1, 2010 Share #9 Posted September 1, 2010 It's to hook up the warp drive!
safetyguy Posted September 2, 2010 Share #10 Posted September 2, 2010 I just hooked it up to the flux capacitor. The plug provides the requisite 1.21 jigawatts (check it with a meter if you don't believe me) and allows for smooth passage through the space time continuum. I just set the control to 30 years in the future and my old Venture Royale is still faster than anything that came from the Harley Davidson factory. And the Mr. Fusion I picked up fits right under the fake tank cover, so now I have enough power to add a few extra lights. dingy Posted September 2, 2010 Share #11 Posted September 2, 2010 (edited) I believe that plug is for the condenser. The condensers purpose is to reduce radio & CB noise. Bike will run fine without it. Condenser is at top center of attached picture, with writing on it. Squidley Posted September 3, 2010 Share #12 Posted September 3, 2010 i thought the CA emitions plug was green and farther forward... Yes it is, buried behind the left side inner fairing bulkhead.
BCLII Posted September 3, 2010 Share #13 Posted September 3, 2010 It is an accessory plug that is hot with the key in the first position like the 12v plug on the left side of the fairing. That's where I wired in my satellite radio saddle. Yamaha doesnt even list or make a male plug end for that plug. I was told by a dealer to just cut it off and wire a new plug in.
