http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/ great website with tons of info about shipping bikes and everything else thats related.

i was quoted $3600 (ahem ripoff)from these guys http://www.motorcycleexpress.com/ that was from Vancouver Canada to Glasgow Scotland return, earlier this year.

theres several airlines that will fly your bike to europe Lufthansa is one ,cant think of the others at the moment but worth giving a few airlines a call and asking. i will say tho, that if your only going for a week or 2 its not worth it to ship, much cheaper to rent . i rented a Gwing for 9 days @65 pounds/ $100 Can a day ,which was reasonable. HDs where in the 800+ pounds per week . hope this helps a little

If I were to tour Europe by motorbike, I would rent one over there. They offer so many different bikes in Europe then they do here in the States that you could try something not available here and brag about it.

I know there were a handful of fellas on the RSWarrior.com site that went to Austria and it was much cheaper to rent bikes then it was to ship their own after the insurance and licensing.

Anyone transported their bike to Europe? When I get reach again (!!!) I would love to tour Europe on my bike (have no interest in renting someone elses). Just curious if anyone from our organization has done that?!

Yhea, I thought I said that earlier!!!!

No reason to feel offended! These responders are honest and straightforward with their answers. If'n you don't want responses, don't ask. Just my $.02 worth.

Have a nice day.

From where I am I have quite a few options to get onto mainland Europe.

I can go Dover-Calais, Dover-Boulogne, Ramsgate( or Dover-)-Dunkirk, Newhaven-Dieppe or several other routes - even one tunnel route.

For you I'd have thought the only reasonably priced method would be to chat up a sailor...

Other than that you'll probably be paying more than the bike's worth. If your bike is spectatcularly customised and you need to show it in Europe, then you'll want a specialist anyway. If you're moving across and have a lot of stuff, then you're looking at shipping a container, or renting space in a container.

What's special about your bike ? Has it been adapted in some way ?

Sorry everyone! Just got off night shift and was rather tired, still am! Still not a good excuse to be impolite, and I truly apologize for being incosiderate!!!!!

My interest in this tread is to find out what is available out there for transporting a bike to Europe. So far, from input from others to this tread, I now have some good websites to explore!

You also might check with DHL.

Fxstein(one the Guys from RSWarrior mentioned above) will ship his '09 Max over here by the End of the Month.Don't know about his Proceedings though.

A Friend of mine shipped his '09 MAx from St.Louis, Mo to Stuttgart, Germany by Air Freight. The wooden Crate cost alone him 595 Bucks. I think, all in all he was near 2000 Bucks.

From what i see from my Side of the Pond, Roll on/Roll Off may be the cheapest Way, but you need to trust those Guys with your Bike.

Nice, Oliver's a great guy to hang around with and can ride pretty damn good. He whooped some butt at the dragstrip a few years ago at one of the RSW gatherings in TN/NC.

I'll hopefully meet him on August, 7./8. in Hockenheim at public Drag Race Days. Really looking forward to, he already modified his Max to right a above 200 rwhp. He'll show us poor european slow Pokes how to ride fast on the Strip... :happy34::happy34::happy34:
