Thanks for the update Jeff.

Our thoughts are with your dad, you and your brother.

I'm not too far down the road from you folks (St. Thomas, Ontario), so if there is anything that I can do to help, just say the word.

Jeff...Thanks for taking the time to let us know how Gary is doing. If I can suggest something...when you talk to your dad, it might help (a little) to remind him that there are Ventureriders all over America praying for him. I know from my own experience that can be a comforting thought in times of trouble.

My deepest sympathy and sincere wishes for a speedy recovery. May we all grow from the strength and prayers that will be needed to carry all through these challenging times.

I would like to leave you with this poem,

God Bless,

Charlie

How You Spend Your “Dash”

I read of a man who stood to speak

At the funeral of a friend.

He referred to the dates on her tombsone

From the beginning…to the end.

He noted that first came her date of birth

And spoke the following date with tears,

But he said what mattered most of all

Was the dash between those years. (19??-2007)

For that dash represents all the time

That she spent alive on earth..

And now only those who loved her

Know what that little line is worth.

For it matters not, how much we own;

The cars…the house…the cash.

What matters most is how we live and love

And how we spend our dash.

So think about this long and hard…

Are there things you’d like to change?

For you never know how much time is left.

That can still be rearranged.

If we could just slow down enough

To consider what’s true and real,

And always try to understand

The way other people feel.

And be less quick to anger,

And show appreciation more

And love the people in our lives

Like we’ve never loved before.

If we treat each other with respect,

And more often wear a smile…

Remembering that this special dash

Might only last a little while.

So, when your eulogy’s being read

With your life’s actions to rehash…

Would you be proud of the things they say

About how you spent your dash?

Gary,

You have my deepest sympathy for your tragic loss, I just realized that you also worked at the tranny plant in Windsor as do I, though we did not work together I do remember you.

You were one of the first to welcome me when I joined this forum and I appreciated that, unfortunately we didn't get to ride together but was looking forward to maybe doing so in the future.

May god bless you and the rest of your family.

Ian.

I read this the first night it was posted but can just now post a reply but I still don't know what to say. My heart aches for Gary and the family. I never met them physically but spiritually feel a connection. May we all electronically hold hands and pray for this dear family. I am deeply sadened by this terrible news, especially when looking at their pictures and see the happiness and obvious love they shared. So sad!
