*^$#$%!# Insurance Companies

I post this for two reasons: one to let you all know about Presidents Choice Financial Insurance and two in hopes you spread the word far and wide.

I had a car accident 4 years ago while turning right on a corner, a woman came from the LEFT side of me, turned right also, right into the left side of my car. Unfortunately, the donut-eater was more involved in the witnesses cleavage than the damage to my vehicle and the case was originally deemed BOTH at fault. So I went to court (cost me 3 days pay with their remands and other BS) but the judge saw the truth and I was deemed 100% fault free and the fault was placed on the other driver. I called back to make sure my insurance was corrected and was told I'd have to get the transcript of the trail and send it to the Adjusters who would deem at fault. I paid the $60 for the copy and sent it off, verified weeks later that things were corrected and was told they were.

Years go by and PCF Insurance has now scewed around enough people that they decide they had better get in the brokerage business instead, so I get my new premiums and they are up 32%!! I was stunned. I call back to ask why and I am told "Thats the best rate we can do for you" I shop around and find it for the same price I'm paying now (which is supposed to be discounted 35%!!) and make the move over. While in a conference call with the new company and PCF it comes to light that I am still being charged at fault for the accident, but it also states third party liable.... can't be both! So I start to try and get this fixed. Through PCF and Crawford Adjusters and Aviva Underwriters they have me running around between approx. 10 different people all with different ways to try and run you around. Finally, I get a lady on the phone who admits to the new company it is not my fault, so I can get the new rate and leave PCF. But, in the process of trying to get things fixed I found out a little insurance tidbit: IF YOU PAY YOUR DEDUCTIBLE, YOU ARE DEEMED TO BE TAKING PARTIAL FAULT FOR THE ACCIDENT.

This reminded me that I never did get back my $500 deductible, so on I fought.

Then, about two weeks ago I receive, from a buddy, a funny email called "Wii for Women" with some quite graphic scenes at the end of it. But, lo and behold, he had just forwarded this on from his source, who had also forwarded it on with .... the FULL CORPORATE signature of one of the head lady adjusters from Aviva. (How stupid can some people be with email, just boggles the mind!) Naturally, I was quite happy to send that on far and wide to every living thing I could find. Oh, and THEN and I called and left a message telling her she should be more careful with her email, and PERHAPS IF SHE SPENT A LITTLE LESS TIME EMAILING PORN ON A COMPANY COMPUTER SHE'D HAVE MORE TIME TO SOLVE CLIENTS PROBLEMS. Don't play with Scorpios, they're a spiteful bunch.

I am happy to say I got the cheque in the mail for the $500 last week. Coincidence??? I think not!

But ..... I was looking at my banking last night, even though I had verbally cancelled 3 times, sent in a written cancellation a month ago which they admit receiving, they still went and took out the money from my account and are now saying "Whoops, sorry, we'll get that money right back to you, should be no more than 3 WEEKS."

It never ends!

PLEASE .... warn all your friends and family to avoid these shylocks, don't get yourself into this STRESS MESS like me. But ... if you happen to come across a forwarded email called Wii for Women.... feel free to send that sucker to Timbuktu and back!

Oh, I did get a call last week that they are still waiting for some paperwork from one of my Doctors though...but they would not tell me the Doctors name that they are waiting on..

I been rolling around on the floor laughing my a** off!!! That made my morning. Don't let up on them!! I'm still fighting and have made some progress. The Insurance Commish ruled that they should make a property settlement with me!! But they send me a release I must sign to get property settlement that releases everybody from everything. Not what commish board said. I don't want to do this. What if he wins powerball tomorrow?? I want some of it.

Ain't it amazing that when you charge something to you CC online it hits your account in a nano sec, but when they have to refund it takes 3 to 4 weeks.....

RIGHT ON!! When I brought this matter up with telephone flunky he promised me a return call from Senior Flunky (or maybe is was Senora Flunky?) and after liberal doses of charm, a sprinkle of finesse and a pound or two of strongarming, they saw my way and I am now being told the pesos will be back in the bank electronically within 24 hours.

I wonder if it had anything to do with the fact I mentioned 55 people had read my story in the first hour of posting, and did they want the URL? Naw, can't be .... she said she didn't need it.......

Wait a minute ..... tomorrow is Saturday ....... aaaaaargh they got me again

My friend with Markel Ins. and right now my niece and her fiance w/ State Farm.

They drilled her for 3 hours a couple days ago about a break in they had around 3 months ago now and lost approximately 12k. Funny thing her fiance's ex-wife "potentially" had one of the stolen watches. The police has his ex and her brother as their # 1 suspect. She's got motive too. His ex just lost custody of the 3 kids to him and she just happened to turn in the watch to the ins. co. who never bothered to tell the police about it. Seems to me when you don't notify the police on something that has impact on an ongoing investigation that is obstruction.

They didn't drill him quite as bad and it was for less time. He had time to prepare by talking to my niece about what type of questions and what not. I talked to him and gave some pointers too. From what he told me it seemed to work. Of course they are still going to drag their feet even though his policy language says a decision has to be made w/in 60 days (which has already past) or they have to pay the claim. Have no idea how they can justify breaking the policy language and get away with it, but he said they have heard of settlements taking a couple years. This is the 2nd time they were questioned and the ins. co. is going to get the copy from the 1st time, which has to be typed up and will take 30 days to get. So now they have to wait up to 30 days just to get a typed up statement, then take however longer to maybe make a decision which apparently will be made by someone 2 levels up from the ins. agent.

And then there is my leaking roof and State Farm. I have mixed feelings about using someone on their preferred list to do the work (if we decide to proceed w/ the claim). Also the agent's office was really vague about whether my premium would be raised. They just said it might go up. I need a better answer than that before I decide to proceed w/ the claim. Just defeats the purpose of having insurance if you are going to raise my premium when I file a claim. The corporate office said the local office should be able to tell me whether my premiums would go up or not and if they don't know then they can call the underwriters at a regional office. The snow has now melted off the roof and what was once wet has now dried up in the attic. All you see now is the damage in the garage (which the corporate office said that is covered and a payable claim regardless of whether the roof is or not. Just have to have someone look at it and determine if the damage is equal to or greater than the deductible. If it is equal to the deductible, I see no reason to file a claim. Just pay out of pocket to the person that will do the work. I can't see how at this point in time how they can determine the damage to the roof was caused by snow/ice or normal wear and tear since they can't duplicate the conditions that caused it or didn't see what was going on at the time the roof was leaking. All that has to happen is for it to be payable is it has to equal to or be greater than the deductible and someone has to say yes the damage was due to snow/ice. For the reasons above, I can't see how they can now say that.
