Trimster Posted September 10, 2007 Share #1 Posted September 10, 2007 Lots have spoken to the seat change-out issue... anyone done anything with the passengers backrest on the RSV? The wife wants something more like the 1st gen (which we just sold) or a Wing. Taller, more wrap around. Not seeing aftermarket customizations like this. Any ideas? bob
BuddyRich Posted September 10, 2007 Share #2 Posted September 10, 2007 The corbin has a lot of wrap around. Don't know about it being taller. Look at the Corbin website or the yamaha web site as they sell the corbin for the RSV but its a bit steep there.
Monsta Posted September 10, 2007 Share #3 Posted September 10, 2007 FWIW, the Corbin is quite a bit higher than the stock backrest. I really like mine...er...well...the wife and kids do. I've never ridden back there.
Lone Eagle Posted September 10, 2007 Share #4 Posted September 10, 2007 Maybe a Harley backrest might fit on there as well? Could be a little cheaper.
juggler Posted September 10, 2007 Share #5 Posted September 10, 2007 On our '99 I replaced the stock seats with the new pillow top stock seats, but I left the old passenger backrest in place. My wife wasn't complaining about it so no need to replace it. Corben makes or made a different version with slightly longer wrap-arounds that cal almost be used as armrests. I suppose if you can reupholster anything I'm sure the backrest can be redone with different padding and shape. I'm not sure anyone here has ever tried this. We have a few people on here that have redone their own seats.
