Cougar Posted April 24, 2009 Share #1 Posted April 24, 2009 As some of you remember and though I was CRAZY in this last thread, http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=32974 I took the template and some advise from some of you folks and came up with a formed 1" round stainless steel rod. Then I had a bracket placed were the kick stand goes. (off set under there as well) then had the Darn thing Chromed. (Thanks Mike for bring that part back) great guy! Wife is very happy that she now can extend her legs outward It also does not get in my way. I almost had it figured out a way for the kickstand not to hit the darn thing when up.. gave up since I did my Trike Conversion last month and had the kickstand removed anyways. Just thought I would share my finished results. Wife tried then today on about a 100 mile ride. she loved them! I also placed a Shinny New Quarter one each side. one from Iowa were we live now and the other from were we came from. Calif. The support strength from this new bracket is stronger then the ones that I have up front, off the crash bar. Take a look! the last few are from under. Still trying to up-load pics folks.. something is wrong.. not working right today.. Jeff

Sleeperhawk Posted April 25, 2009 Share #3 Posted April 25, 2009 My wife would love to have those, but how to get around the kick stand ?
Cougar Posted April 25, 2009 Author Share #4 Posted April 25, 2009 sleeperhawk. and it is so damn close too!. I would have figured something out though.. I went this far *lol* and the finished product does not hang any lower then when I had the kickstand on there, the push bar part. but that bar was just back far enough. Cougar Posted April 25, 2009 Author Share #5 Posted April 25, 2009 And these are nice but they do not make her leg extend far enough. they also were about the same hight as the reg boards. so that was a no go for her.

Cougar Posted April 25, 2009 Author Share #7 Posted April 25, 2009 Sleeper... notice in this pic the rubber stop for the end of the kickstand.. that is how close this could work. With some thinking you could maybe off set a little farther back fancy tap welding.
bryan52577 Posted April 25, 2009 Share #8 Posted April 25, 2009 Hey Jeff, Do you still have these? If so Would you sell them? If so I would take them or else I will be buying some from Diamond R soon. Your foot pegs for the little lady look good! Bryan And these are nice but they do not make her leg extend far enough. they also were about the same hight as the reg boards. so that was a no go for her. GunnyButch Posted April 25, 2009 Share #9 Posted April 25, 2009 That really turned out well Jeff. Good job.
pegscraper Posted April 25, 2009 Share #10 Posted April 25, 2009 Those look real nice. I just wish they didn't lose so much cornering clearance for the two wheelers. Of course, on a trike, they're fine.
wahco1956 Posted April 25, 2009 Share #11 Posted April 25, 2009 The pegs from Diamond R are adjustable. There is a screw on them that you turn in or out to adjust the height. Tom
Kregerdoodle Posted April 25, 2009 Share #12 Posted April 25, 2009 Turned out great, that round rod worked out alot better then the angle iron of the mock up!! Great job!! What are the hose clamps for???
Cougar Posted April 25, 2009 Author Share #13 Posted April 25, 2009 -Thanks Guys! -bryan, nope I never ordered them as I have seen a set, they will not go out far enough for what we needed. I even contacted them about it. I also just placed an order for the chrome wind deflectors yesterday from them. *oops* -pegscraper, after seeing them on there from my angle I see other parts on the bike that would hit first though. -Kbay, just for a little more re-enforcement, do to the outward push on the pegs, seemed to do the trike. I was going to add two more steel angles under there and bolt them in place for support , but the clamps did the trick. Jeff
bendtdj Posted April 25, 2009 Share #14 Posted April 25, 2009 Those look great! I have been trying to adjust the foot boards on my 84 so my wife can enoy the ride a bit more. I will check under mine to see if something like this can be done on the older style. The previous owner put some boards for the passenger off a HD. Doreen likes the boards much better then the pegs on the other bikes we have had, but I think she will love to stretch her legs out on a ride. Thanks for the ideas. Even though I have been a member for only about a month, I have learned so much from all you good folks. Dave

BuckShot Posted April 25, 2009 Share #16 Posted April 25, 2009 Jeff--Looks great. You may need to look at some wing trikes and maybe you could make some money making and selling these. More chrome for your trike.
Cougar Posted April 25, 2009 Author Share #17 Posted April 25, 2009 Old Venture , not sure if it is worth the time , but that is why I started with that mock-up to get the right dimensions etc. back and forth to the welder and so on, I started this project a couple months ago, been thinking about how I can do this and get my end results for the past 3 years and have been racking my Brain about it to get the wife more comfortable (I Finley did that) Some of the other wife's are completely satisfied with the other mods that have been made. but they just were not going to work for my wife's knee condition. And Thanks! Jeff
