BuckShot Posted September 12, 2008 Share #1 Posted September 12, 2008 Friend just bought 08 Venture. Has around 1500 miles on it now and every time he rides his clutch hand turns black. It only takes about 10 miles of back road riding for this to happen. Getting worse the more miles he puts on. Dealer said he would check with rep about replacement. Friend thought this was not right for just a clutch lever. We think maybe the lever was not sealed (?) or coated correctly from factory. Any thoughts or suggestions. My fix was to install the leather lace up covers for both the clutch and brake levers. Got em from JC Whitney for less than $20 and they are holding up very well. waterbug Posted September 13, 2008 Share #8 Posted September 13, 2008 I have a 08 with almost 3k on her and mine are the same way. were are you getting chrome handles for 20 bucks each? and are they hard to change out I really havent gave it any thought till now.
