  2. That just goes to show that I can be gullible, not often mind you, but there are weak spots. Hope your back heals good and well and the pain doesn't drop to lower levels.

  5. Ha. He said creative not factual. 🤪🤪🤪 Besides that I haven’t seen my bike in a few weeks, it’s on a stand under a cover locked away until spring. I finally had the back surgery I’ve been putting off for years, doc says absolutely no riding, wife would kill me if I even mentioned it.
  6. You almost had me thinking this was true story,,, until,,, the 10mm socket evidence, then the whole story fell apart,,,, they never, ever, never get found!!
  7. This was me coming thru a tunnel on the parkway last week. I had hit the airhorn to see how much the wife would jump at the echo, laughed at her and exited the tunnel to find carnage. Three cars, two bikes, and a hiker in a pile, parts scattered everywhere. The first car upon hearing the horn and seeing a single yellow light thought he was meeting a freight train panicked, locked the brakes and lost control wreaking havoc. Three cars, two bikes, and a hiker in a pile, parts scattered everywhere. Luckily no injuries but it took two days to figure out which parts went to which vehicle. Lawyers are recommending I add more lights to look less like a locomotive. The best news out of it was that me hitting that broken truck bumper shook two lost 10mm sockets from somewhere in the motor and landed on my floorboard.
  8. Not a slide hammer, sledge hammer! And yes, you may.
  9. Good evening to all. Hoping you already have bought your chocolates for the trick or treaters on Thursday.
  10. @Marcarl I think you should tell your wife the scooter or bike is for her after all...it might work. Hopefully someone will be interested on the light bar. Looking forward to read some 'creative reasons' from anyone.

  12. @Marcarlsaw your reply about a tool to remove wheel hubs. Would it happen to be a slide hammer tool with adapter that bolts onto hub? Would it be possible to borrow it when I come down on Saturday If you could check to see if the gap is able to fit on a 4 1/4(5x114.3mm)
  13. Sorry for the sporadic posts. been pulling my hair out over this. I think i finally solved it. The cylinder that was dead at idle had a stuck idle jet in the jet block. I had used guitar wire to ensure the jet was open, ultra sonic'd it multiple times, and used compressed air trying to get it cleared out, with no luck. I took the best fitting screwdriver I had, sharpened it and managed to get the idle free without too much damage. Looking at the jet it was indeed clear, but when i stuck everything in the cleaner, black crap started oozing out of the jet block from the idle jet hole. Guess there was something in there that evaded all my attempts to get clean. I am still picking up the parts bike -- i have a bastard child '84 xvz12 that is in desperate need of parts (xvz1200 everything mounted to a 1300 frame, and is in very rough shape.) I plan on getting offroad-esque tires for it, and will be taking it on the KAT next year with my brother and the maxim he picked up.
  14. Now if I were the one to get this lightbar I would be tempted to go out and purchase a scooter to put it on. Or maybe modify the Spyder or the 86 I have presently in stock. My wife says,, NO!!!
  15. Yankees are done. There is no way they will win 4 in a row.

Thanks. 1st I've been trying the fuel pump with both fuel lines disconnected and it only runs for a split second. I had to replace the fuel pressure sensor it was bad. I had found out on this site how to check it. 2nd Thanks for the advice on the screen. I drained all of the stale gas out and have a 1/2 tank of good fuel. I'll check tomorrow to see what is showing on the screen.
  17. I am following this thread. The light bar looks great!
  18. That is really what I thought. There has to be a special tool to remove the wheel bearing. If I am not mistaken, some auto parts store will let you rent/borrow special tools as long as you purchase the part from them.
  19. Game 3 is a must win for the Yankees. I am trying to keep my hopes up.
  20. Hello all, It's been a while since I've been on but this place has been a treasure fro me when working on both my 83 and my 2004. When I crashed that 83 after hitting a deer about 8 years ago it was with help from Bongo and Puc that landed me the parts to fix it and neither of them would take dime for them, not even for the shipping. That is why I am offering up this light bar and lights for an RSV at NO CHARGE to the member that has the most creative reason why they should have it. I would give the condition about 8-9 out of 10 and you will have everything you need but the wiring and switch. (That's not rust in the pics, it's a reflection of my shirt) I'll let this go for two weeks and then I'll pick a winner.
  21. Great post - thanks for sharing! And of course, now I'm checking out the membership benefits...
  22. Thank you happy to be here. I ride a black & grey 1991 XVZ13TD, fully revised and kept completely original by a fellow Dutch (NL) rider.
  23. 1st of all the fuel pump runs on both a timer and a line pressure sensor so it is quite normal to turn the key on and off for several cycles to get fuel to the carbs if they are empty. When the carbs are full the pump will barely run but a click or two. 2nd Check your screen to see what is displayed when the red light is on or flashing it could simply mean your getting low on fuel or your side stand is down while in gear. In the case of fuel level the light will flash when getting low. slow at 1st than faster as it gets lower and finally solid when your very low.
  24. Love Baseball but there's no love lost on these 2 teams. If the Yankees lose I just get to pick on more of my coworkers. LOL
