My 99 has been a jewel for the last 5 years I've owned it. However I recently went a whole 6 weeks without running it(I know, thats inexcusable for some who lives in Florida). Now I have a problem with a rough idle(sounds like Harley) and stalling. Runs fine however under power. I assume I've got gunk/crap in the idle circuit of the carbs. My dealer suggested Ring Free in the tank. I put some in and I'm gonna run the tank out this Sunday and see what happens.Anyone else ever had this problem? BTW I've been an auto mechanic for 35 years and have always HATED working on Japaneese carbs--very small jets and passages and overly complicated.

This weekend finds the return of the Cycle World International Motorcycle Show to the World Congress Center in Atlanta. This show is huge! All the major manufacturers will have their full line of cycles displayed and it's also a great opportunity to see an endless variety of after-market accessories as well as helmets, gloves, tires and all sorts of other gear. There's a discount available if you buy your ticket in advance online and there's also a list available of local shops that can provide you with a discount coupon, if that's easier. Janis and I have found that going early on Sunday provides the least amount of hassle and the most enjoyment, since the large crowds usually show up on Saturday and there's significantly less Atlanta traffic to contend with! http://www.motorcycleshows.com/motorcycleshows/static/staticHtml.jsp?id=359197 If you do happen to be there on Sunday, let's meet at the Yamaha display at 2PM! Amazing, but after 2 years of riding around D/FW and never seeing another RSV I spotted 2 within 2 hours. Who was on the Midnight RSV that I ran with for about 10 miles at approx. 10 am on Sunday? And who was going the opposite direction on an '07 on I-30 around 11:45 am on Sunday? Come on, fess up.
