  1. I just had the dealership install OEM passing lamps on my '06 RSTD. I got home and wanted to show some friends and none of the head lamps were on. An investigation found the headlamp fuse blown. There was a spare 15 amp fuse, and I put that on. The main headlamp came on, and I discovered the passing lamps were toggled off. When I toggled them on, the fuse blew immediately. My question: should the combination of headlamp and passing lamps work with a 15A fuse? I have the halogen version ( STR-4NK35-10-01 ) of the passing lamps and the OEM headlight. Of course, the dealership didn't return any of the installation or operation information that came with the lamps so I don't know the current draw. They were working at the dealership but were dead when I got home. Maybe something broke loose and is grounding?
  2. I went to my multi-brand dealership to get some Honda Moly60 Paste grease however the parts counter did not stock it, so I had a tube special ordered for me. SO, I would have to ASSUME that the service department does not use it......... Does your local dealership stock it??????????

  4. Got my bike back yesterday after being gone 3 days to have warranty work done on the exhaust Y's and the inner fairing replaced due to broken tabs. When I first picked it up the radio would not come on. Turned around and brought it right back and watched them pull the outer fairing and just giggle the wires and it came back on. They said it was a loose connection. I started home and realized I had to turn the radio up louder than usual to hear it so I'm thinking maybe the amp is not connected correctly. Called the dealership and they want me to bring it back and can't tell me which connectors are radio related. Anyone here know so I can just pull it apart myself? Plan on checking all the connections but figured it might be nice to know exactly which ones to pay attention to. Thanks.
  5. The past couple weeks I have been looking for some new tires. When I brought my Roadliner, it came with Dunlop D251's. Front 130/70R 18. Rear 190/60R 17. The front tire I can find anywhere. No matter if it's Dunlop, Avon or what. The rear tire I can not fine. I am told that I have to buy it thru a Yamaha Dealership. Why is this?
  6. Well, I'm just about to put my first new set of tires on the RSV (@ 12k miles) and was wondering if I should tell the new dealership I'm going to to re-grease the clutch hub pins? I had it done it the first time at around 4k miles. I'm not going back to the dealer that performed the process the first time because thier customer service is just pathetic. This will be the third dealership I've taken the bike to (you might recall from some of my other posts that the last guys I took my bike to managed to drop the bike and had to replace the fairing, left lower, and a saddlebag guard.). I guess I'm just dreading having to explain to the dealer techs about the this problem with the clutch hub pins. _________________
  7. A friend of mine has two bikes. A kawasaki drifter and a swift chopper. He decided to trade both of them for a harely street glide. The harley dealer here in Albany, GA wouldn't take the swift chopper because they couldn't find a value for it. The female salesperson offered to take the kawasaki on trade and gave my friend a price. She wouldn't give him a breakdown as to how she arrived at the price of the harley. My friend went to another harley dealership about 45 miles away that is owned by the same person here. They offered my friend $500.00 more for his kawasaki. The next day my friend called the harley dealer here and said he was ready to trade. The female salesperson in a very rude tone said there was no deal to make. The deal she gave him was for yesterday only so she wouldn't sell him the harely and take his kawasaki on trade. My friend said that was ok but he would get a harley from another dealer. He went to tallahassee, florida and the harley dealer there offered him the same trade in value but was selling him the street glide for msrp which is $19,000.00. It was then that my friend realized that the harley dealer here in Albany, GA was charging $3,000.00 above the msrp. He closed the deal with tallahassee and brought the bike home. That was friday. Saturday my friend and two of our mutual friends asked him to go to the local harley dealer so they could buy him something for his new harley as a gift. When my friend entered the harley dealership he was met by the sales manager who grabbed his hand but wouldn't let go. My friend finally pulled his hand away from the sales manager and said is there a problem? The sales manager said yes, the owner doesn't want you in this dealership so you need to leave. The sales manager said you bad mouthed our salesperson so you are not allowed in this building. About that time the owner came out and my friend asked to speak with him. They were having a civil conversation and my friend told him the only problem he had was that the salesperson wouldn't show him the breakdown she was using to come up with her price. The owner said well you came in here and got a deal and then went to another dealership so we don't won't you in our dealership. About that time the female salesperson came out of her office and started yelling at my friend "you think you are a big man don't you." My friend talkes with this hands sometimes so as he was talking to the owner the salesperson told him he better get his hand out of her face. Another friend was next to him, he is 6'6" tall and weighs 320 pounds, and he said come on let's go, it's not worth getting this worked up about this. My friend left the building and after he was out the door another friend who was still in the dealership said the salesperson said , "we don't need prick's like that in here." The owner finally told her to shut up and get back in her office. I thought I had seen it all but this arrogance takes the award.
