Does anyone know if you can test the cruise control wires and various switches through the socket that plugs into the the crusie control brain. Using either a voltmeter or 12 volt test light?

Cruise Control Trouble

Ever since my crash I rebuilt the bike the right side was heavily damaged and the cruise control brain was damaged I acquired another one but it appears it doesnt work. The vacuum pump checks ok, the switches check ok. The display lights up but does not give any trouble codes. If I disconnect the vacuum pump it will give a trouble code. The light powers up and all the lights work but the cruise will not turn on at any speed. Any ideas and is there any way to check the brain box? -
okay . as usual i need to know how to register for vogel. looked all over and can't seem to do it. i want to go ahead and register. HELP!

took this hunk of dirt to the carwash this morning and low and behold there was a vstar under there. first wash since last year. i forgot what it was.

I switched to Windows Explorer 8 A few months ago and I am liking it.. I was messing around with the links bar/ favorites bar across the top and I turned them in (tiny) small icons. I have been recking my brain trying to get them back to there normal size. any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Jeff

I have a short in the plug for my driver’s head set cable harness. It is the 5-pin connector and if memory serves correctly (only have one brain cell left!) there are two connectors on the "bike" side. Does anyone have a source for replacement cables? -
Does anyone here have the stratoliner or roadliner? Would like to pick your brain.

:(There have been numerous discussons about radio problems. Mine is apparently not resolved with the usual cleaning and greasing of the connections under the faring. My issues seem to be at the "brain" as some have called it. It used to jump all over the place for no ryme or reason and now it is just locked in on one station and only the volume control works. No other feature works. My questions is this. Has anyone had to buy just the control module with the LED readout, or just the inside "brain"? If so, how much was it and do you have to buy it from a dealer? I'm concerned this is going to cost a real bundle. Any comments are certainly welcome. Thanks

I had a great brain fart the other day! Some others may have already thought of and done this; Maybe even posted something about it that I read and forgot about. So it may not be a new idea. I have been having trouble with the tail light fuse on my 86 blowing. I put a new fuse in and unplugged the headlight fuse (so as not to drain the battery) and left the tail light on for ten minutes, then ten minutes with turn signals on. The brake and turn signals ore on a different circuit. During this time I removed the seat and wiggled/inspected wires, pulled the bulbs out and replaced them, wiggled everything. Fuse wouldn't blow! I finally found that the last time I did an oil change, I didn't secure the wires on the lights I put on the lower chin fairing and as I rode, the wind or bumps pushed the positive wire (which is tied to the front L running light, which in turn is on the tail circuit) into the header pipe and burned through it and shorted it. Just sitting there it was fime, but when I started moving it shorted! I love it when I find a definite electrical problem! OK, none of that was the brain fart, but if you're still with me, here it is: One of the things first genners are looking for is more light in back. As I had the tail light cover off I realized that the beveled edges around the base of the bulbs is painted silver but not real shiny. I got a piece of aluminum foil, cut it to fit, made the appropriate holes, put it on and pressed it into the ridges; then I pulled it back off, sprayed the dull side with adhesive and put it back in. I then used a soft parts brush to make sure it was well pressed in. It made a noticeable difference in the light output! Here are some pics but they don't really show the difference.
