  1. I have been a member for a number of years, 05 midnight which I bought new and is a great bike which we all know. Do not post much but check quite often. Thanks Guys for all the information.
  2. Your problem was exactly the same as mine. After checking everything-new plugs, new fuel filter, carbs cleaned, valves checked, changed ecu with friends bike, checked all electrical-- and it was the pickup coil on the stator.
  3. Have not seen or heard any talk about this years rally and a get together. Anything happening?
  4. Need help '05 Midnight no spark. This is what I have checked ignition switch, kill switch, and kick stand switch all OK. Pickup coil from stator ohms out to specs I switched out the ignitor unit with another bike and mine worked in his and with his in mine still no spark. I have not checked individual coils to spark plugs how would all 4 be bad at the same time. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
  5. I have a cold starting problem and have replaced fuel pump, fuel filter, plugs and cleaned the carbs everything is good to go. When warm starts fine when cold, choke on choke off hold the throttle don't hold the throttle and it will finally start. It was suggested to check the throttle position sensor. It reads 815 ohms and not enough adjustment to get it down to 700 ohms. Any ideas?
  6. Checked out choke and it is working properly-- still searching for answers.
  7. Cold starting problem- 2005 Midnight 67,000 miles- new fuel pump, new fuel filter, new plugs, carbs synchronized. When cold starting in the past, pull choke hit starter and it is running-now pull choke and need to turn over and over, choke off then on and finally it will start. Once it starts it runs fine and starting warm is no problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
  8. I also have a 05 midnight and for my hitch my brother suggested vertical so when not in use nothing is seen. We made it with receiver vertical and it works great.
  9. 204 is an very good varmint round. In 1986 my Dad and I started prairie dog hunting in North and South Dakota and in the last 30 years I have loaded and shot just over 23,000 rounds in these centerfire calibers 204, 222, 223, 22-250, 220 swift, 243, 6mm, 25-06, and 308. The 204 is accurate, inexpensive to shoot if you make your own bullets, and minimum recoil so you can see what you hit in the scope. So get a good quality rifle with a high quality scope and shoot straight.
