  1. I had a custom LED setup for my rear lights, but one of the diodes burned out. I had a friend look at it and because he doesn't know what the diode types are he doesn't think he can fix it. He tried, but it lasted about 30 seconds and burnt out again. Any suggestions for a replacement? The one I had was like this - http://www.customdynamics.com/Yamaha_tail_retro.htm - but $90 plus shipping seems a bit much for a bunch of LEDs on a board. Does anybody know a reasonable replacement for a better cost? I have a regular bulb in there for now, so I don't think there's any kind of short. Bike is a 2001 1300 RSV
  2. Just my 2 cents, I feel uncomfortable when I see somebody riding a bike they can't flatfoot. I had a woman come to look at my '82 750 Nighthawk, and she was about 5' tall. She could just get the tips of her feet on the ground. I didn't feel comfortable selling her the bike and I told her so. Sold it yesterday to a guy around my height, in the 6' range. I can sleep better at night!
  3. I saw there there are 2 tiny springs in there that would have to be removed and re-attached. Thinking that they would be very difficult to get at given the size of the access hole. I'm just going to go with cutting a slit in the skin and use some velcro to close it up. Thanks for the tips everybody!
  4. Yes, it is an RSV. I'll be popping the seat off today, thanks! Will post a pic of the result in case anybody's interested http://members.storm.ca/~cameron_antaya/venturetiny.jpg
  5. I'm guessing the Corbin and Utopia seats must be different as I can't find any other nuts/bolts/screws. It looks like the seat will have to come off to get at the post bolt from underneath. No big deal, I never put the rear bolt back in when I removed the seat to charge the battery after the winter anyways so it'll come off easy!
  6. I want to put a fleece on my set just to cushion it up a bit, but don't want to cut it more than I have to. The best way to accomplish this would be to remove the driver backrest, so all I would have to do is cut about a 1 1/2" square out of it, slide it over the post and replace the backrest. There is a small screw at the top of the post that I would have thought would allow me to slide off the backrest, but it's still on there pretty good. I don't want to break anything so I'm not forcing it. Is there something else I need to do in order to remove it? The bike is a 2001 Royal Star. http://members.storm.ca/~cameron_antaya/ventureseat1.jpg http://members.storm.ca/~cameron_antaya/ventureseat2.jpg
