  1. The swirls come from the rage you might use. Always use a micro-fiber like cloth to avoid the swirls. Unless of course you have an F4 Customs shield.
  2. I just recently did the very same research on this forum. You will find lots of great input on many of the windshield options available. I was initially leaning toward the F4 Customs because of its durability but finally decided upon the Baggershield. I made the choice because of the adjust-ability and the price. Baggershield will give Venturerider.org forum members a 10% discount plus any other discount deal they may be running at the time. I caught it when there was a 25% off plus my 10% member's discount for 35% off. They are very nice folks to deal with and the shield arrived well packaged and quick. I love the shield! They will send you both the low profile and the quick connect hardware. I tried both and both are really good but I like the quick connect because.... well it's quick and easy and truly I think it looks cool too. You won't regret a Baggershield... they really are a great product.
  3. I'm done. It's all good. Thanks once again all!!!
  4. Not sure who you were waiting for or what they might say but you got my curiosity going. Anyway, just plugged AIS and pop is gone. Carbs were just synced a couple weeks ago so I decided to just do the AIS block. Works good. I will play with the pilots a little but I'm pretty happy now.
  5. Thank you guys for advising me. ACE50: Pilots screws? I have the Clymer service manual so I will look those up on the carbs. I should find them in that manual right? And... open would be which direction a turn will be in the manual also?
  6. I have a brand new Motion Pro still in the package. Guess I'll get my feet wet and try doing it myself. I've read a bunch of folks don't like the Motion Pro sync tool. I hope I don't run into all the issues others have mentioned with this tool.
  7. I found the info on disabling the AIS system. That does sound like it would fix it. My carbs were recently synced prior to installing the new slip-ons. Would this need to be done again after the slip-ons?
  8. I added my questions to my updated review of the National Cycle Peacemaker slip-ons but I don't think our forum experts read it so I'm going to re-post for some helpful advise. Question for all you experts out there.... I hear some minor popping from the exhaust after installing the Peacemakers mufflers. Mostly when the pipes are in wide open state during throttle down but a little even in quiet mode during throttle down after rev. I have always adhered to the concept that only changing pipes or only air box (not air box on an RSV of course) that you do not have to rejet the carbs. My 2008 RSV has no mods to the air box so I shouldn't have a problem with just opening the pipes some. If I take it to my mechanic will they be able to adjust the carbs to get the popping out or will they want to rejet? This shop does have a dyno so they will likely advise doing a rejet on the dyno. Opinions?
  9. Update on Review: Okay, now going on a week with the Peacemakers slip on's. Still love the louder and the soft. Mechanical parts still perfect. Had a problem on my headlight power line blowing the 15 Amp fuse after splicing in the Peacmakers switch. Instructions tell you to tap this line. I'm sure that works no problem for most but I have a Flash2Pass integrated into my headlamp so when I used the flash to open the garage it would blow the fuse. Removed the Peacmakers splice and all is well again. I spliced the Peacemakers into another auxiliary power source I had already run up to my fairing when I put in the 3 accessory switch. I think the Flash2Pass when high to low was flashed it caused a short with the splice in the line. I do have a question for all you experts out there.... I hear some minor popping from the pipes. Mostly in the pipes wide open state when I let off the throttle but a little even in quiet mode. I have always adhered to the concept that only change pipes or only air box (not air box on an RSV of course) that you do not have to rejet the carbs. My 2008 RSV has no mods to the air box so I shouldn't have a problem with just opening the pipes some. 10. Here is the link to the manufacturer's website. I purchased mine through Cruiser Customizing. http://www.nationalcycle.com/catalogue/Peacemakers.shtml
  11. Okay, Okay, I know. Pics. I'll post some soon. Just a crazy holiday time. Hope everyone had a great time away from work and spent it with your family and reflected on the price paid for our freedom.
  12. I don't know about the possible difference in the ones made for HD and those specifically for the RSV. Is the difference only the mounting points and the actual muffler built the same? Probably. I found the National Cycle people will respond quickly to email questions. You might send them a quick email and ask them about that. sales@nationalcycle.com
  13. We got delayed. It was supposed to be this late June but now we are going to stay close to home here in NC and enjoy some great riding local. Next year we are going to do the western trip but I talked him out of coast to coast just to say we did it. We are now going to do the Grand Canyon and surrounding area.
  14. Not yet but give me time. After new tires these are next.
  15. All of them?
  16. LOL! Those are on my list next. After a new set of tires. Eusa1 knows I'm out here saving up.
  17. Happy Memorial Day everyone! The National Cycle Peacemakers are on. I've ridden two days with them now. In quiet mode they are as quiet as stock with just a hint of lower tones but no real increase in dbs. In loud mode they are not extreme. As a matter a fact much to my delight the increased dbs has little effect on my stereo listening. The sound has a great rumble heard best standing behind the bike. When you roll on the throttle it satisfies that need for a powerful sound running through the gears. From a sound analysis they are a perfect mix of rumble and dbs without being obnoxious or droning in your ears as you cruise the highway in loud mode. There is a hint of VMAX sound if you know what I mean. From a fit and finish analysis the slip-ons are high quality. The fit to the stock pipes is snug and secure but not quite as elegant as the stock mufflers at the clamp. They neck down to the stock pipes and have a visible clamp (clamp is similar to chrome finish) not as pretty as the taper of the chrome piece with stock mufflers. The mechanical / electrical operation of the muffler baffle works really well. I do not feel any carburetor adjustments will be required even in wide open mode. If I decide to open up the air box in the future I will have my local shop do a dyna tune on it tuning to the wide open position. I’ll be running in that mode most of the time anyway. Installation was simple. Instructions are very clear with good pics. Anybody could do it with very basic mechanical and wiring skills. Overall I’m very happy with this mod and I would highly recommend this product for those who would like to have a good bit more sound and rumble without obnoxious results from many other pipe upgrade choices and yet still have the option to run in stealth mode.
  18. I have made a few of these choices on my own but I'd say 90% have come through researching on this site. I'm not finished yet. I know I'll never get the investment back but then I never plan to sell this great bike. I did up the insurance on accessories to include this list. Hope I never need it. So once again I want to thank all the contributors on this site for the great advice and reviews to help me make good decisions and the technical instructions that allowed me to do the mods myself for the most part. 19. Looks like he even puts chrome accessories on his snow blower too.
  20. I have the Garmin Zumo 665. It is pricey but a great unit. It comes with XM radio and you can subscribe to traffic and weather for it as well. I purchased it as a package deal from Touratech-usa.com. I love their mount as it is a locking mount so when you go into to eat you don't have to worry about putting it away. I don't leave it out all night however. It is easy to remove the device from the mount once unlocked.
  21. Update: I don't know what Cruiser Customizing did or how they did it but they shipped my Peacemakers out today! I said it before and I'll say it again. I always go to Cruiser Customizing first for most needs. I usually end up ordering from them if the price is within reason one way or the other. They have always had superior customer service and I know they did something extra special for me. They first responded to my email asking if they could help with the extreme delay and they responded that the manufacturer was back ordered but they would flag the shipping department to see if anything could be done. WELL THEY DID IT! I should have them for the Memorial Day weekend to get them installed and ride.
  22. Got em yesterday. Quick and easy install. No mounting modification needed on my bike as indicated by another poster. Very bright. My son says he can't look straight at them they are so bright. Very worth while visibility upgrade.
  23. Custom Dynamics are located right here in NC so my 100 LED Genesis II tail light upgrade is already at my house. Installing them tonight. Thanks for posting about these lights guys. I had not seen them.
  24. Thanks Monty! I'm gonna buy one of these. Bright is good.
  25. This does look like an excellent upgrade. I have a question. I use a Back Off brake light modulator unit. Will this cause any issues with this upgrade?
