  1. Good morning: I've just finished replacing my brake, throttle and clutch lines with SS units and my handlebar with a Flanders model. All went pretty well, but my front brake lever does not have a firm feel to it and the bike can be moved, with some effort, with the brakes applied. I have checked all my connections for tightness and there was no air in the system when I bled the lines yesterday. A check of the service manual doesn't lead me to what could be wrong. So what could I have missed or done wrong? Is there some adjustment at the lever itself which needs to be performed (the manual doesn't indicate anything)? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I do believe in "old college tries" and will bleed the lines again with a vacuum pump. The reservoir is angled slightly back (not horizontal when the handlebars are turned left), but I don't think that should have a bearing on a closed system.   2. Hi Brian: Thanks for the suggestion! I found a complicated tire engineering article on the web which discussed racing bike tires, and about 180 - 200 degrees seemed to be typical. So, for street tires, under the conditions you presented, the temperature should be less but that`s as much as I can tell. I will start with an initial setting of 160 on both tires and adjust according to trial and error. If I find values that seem to do the trick and are consistent, I`ll report them here. I`m not riding a lot at the moment, so it may take several weeks before I have something conclusive. Very much appreciate your help! Regards, Eric S. `alta55rsv`

Hello: I recently purchased a wireless Tire Pressure / Temperature Monitoring System for my '07 RSV which allows me to set alarms for low and high tire pressures and high internal temperature on each tire. I can set the pressure limits easily enough, but I don't know what the normal internal operating temperatures are for the front and rear tires. Does anyone have any information in this regard?   4. Hello from Vancouver, Canada: Just a little over a year ago, I purchased a gauge set from Ponch (tach, oil pressure and water temp) for my ’07 Venture. Unfortunately, life got in the way and I didn’t start installing the set until just this week. With the dash now apart - and cut, I've run into a snag which I hope someone can help me fix. Specifically, I have the Clarion CD Changer installed on my bike. As part of its installation, the multi-pin connector was inserted into the green-tagged cable on the Cassette deck. With the Cassette now "toast", where do I plug the CD connector? Is the grey-tagged cable which used to link the deck to the radio? I'm hoping that's the answer. Another challenge: my old Craftsman 7.2 v drill is too large to fit between the bottom of the upper fairing frame and the inner fairing wall (re drilling new holes in the former cassette frame and gauge set brackets). What size of drill is recommended? Would a new 18v or 20v cordless unit be of sufficient slim profile to do the trick? How about a Dremel tool? And last but not least: Since a water temp gauge is part of my cluster, is it best to wrap the capillary water tube in layer of thin insulation since its bound to get hot? If yes, what material is recommended? That's everything. My thanks, in advance, to any and all who can answer these questions and help me get my RSV back on the road.
