  1. How comz the training wheels are so far back?
  2. Also the power wire for the switch at the bike harness has been known to corrode or the connection go bad. Then because of the larg draw will melt the connector. There is a write up and some pics here somewhere that show what happens. Sent a fellow some stuff to repair his a couple months back, along with a relay.
  3. Puc, I figured you'd be up for like the Triumph Scrambler or sumtin
  4. Hmmm Maybe us Fl folks need to look at a meet and eat in Jan at like Fords restaurant over there.
  5. Midsrv, your not the only one that tows "over the limits". I see tons of them down here, little 1/2 ton trucks pulling trailer my 3/4 would be more suited to.
  6. Try your gauge on something know to be good. Like your car or truck. See where your gauge is functioning. Sucks to be trying to troubleshoot something with a faulty diagnosis equipment.
  7. Find something and tie the clutch handle down over night. It probably has air trapped and its a bear to get out. Tien the handle down overnight should allow it to find its way out the return hole in reservoir. If I remember how the story goes correctly. When I change mine I make sure I still have fluid in the holes and get the crud out of the crevices. But that way fluid stays in the pick ports.
  8. You know when I first started reading this, I thought immediately OH no its not hooked to anything. This could go really bad quick. Had a scary moment or 2 loading a stock car on a flat bed trailer a couple times.
  9. After this falls ride in the mountains, I have had my fill for awhile. LOL I ride at my pace as I'm the one paying my medical. I'm not all that advanced anymore on the twisties fast. Just dont stay in practice much here in Fla. And the RSV is not really a bike for that. But unless your well of financially, to me it depends on what makes most sense for day to day for you. I would like to buy something a little bit lighter, but definitely lower CG. I like the Victory Vision (not really lighter) or a Cross Country or Crossroads, about 200# lighter. But all have a lower CG so handling is more crisp and light. But for now as much riding as I do, money wise I am having a hard time convincing myself to spend the cash (or finance really)
  10. What, that blue bike dont look comfortable for 10hr in the saddle?
  11. Unless you get an OEM really cheap, go with a Hagon.
  12. I would like to have a lot of them back now. All I have to do is see an episode of Barrett Jackson and think I could finance 2 retirements of those cars. My first car a 65 Mustang 272hp/289 4spd car coupe not fastback. 69 Dart GTS 383 4spd car. Also a car I really liked was my 71 Maverick Grabber factory V-8 car with 3spd on floor. After that trany died twice I put a ford 10 bolt top loader in it. Looked like this one http://www.walleyecentral.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=123498&d=1419908036
  13. Congrats Been 30+ years for me. I got Flu bug bad one year. Spent 3 days in bed, fourth finally felt good enough to get out of bed for a few hours. I was sitting in my favorite chair, picked up a smoke and said to myself "well its been 3 days wonder if I can got 4" That was it.
  14. Well I was kind of thinking Fla.
  15. Kind of depends which way you want to go Steve. WE dont have one but spent 2 days at the RV show last winter over in Tampa. Man what a wide variety of options. For me I'm pretty sure I would go with a toy hauler. But it would have to be something like 24' or longer, as one of the things we really like is a separate garage (place to store bike). Probably best floor plans and most space would be 5th wheel style, in toy hauler. To me one of the good points of a towable (5th wheel or regular travel trailer type) is when you get where your going you have something you can drive to places without leveling and releveling like a motorhome if you dont pull a car. For a first one I think I definitely would look previously owned. Someone else takes the initial hit on the loss. I searched craigslist there for awhile here in Fla and prices are very wide depending on what your looking for, and if its private sale or dealership. I kind of like the Outback and Raptor makes a dang nice unit.
  16. Yea Steve wasnt there someone over there that just had a motor go south and he bought a replacement scoot also?
  17. Part of the reason I went with the Michelin was tread design. The dunlap to me does not have "cross over" grooves and I had a few issues with the rear in the wet. So currently this is what I have on the front, and this is the rear tire
  18. Just a thought. You are going to be on the right side of the car.......closest to the wall. And someone else is driving. LOL
  19. I like the ride of the 130/90 It just seemed to corner better or something. Cant put my finger on it for sure now. I had the MC 2 on there for over 17k and could have got a few K more out of them but had a trip planned. I went to Shinko last change due to economic budget at time. Not a bad tire for the money. The rear went like 6600, not bad for like $80 in my book. Now have a Shinko 777 on rear as they now make that in a "reinforced" tire for more load. When I did go to the Shinkos I als went back to OEM size tire up front. OH my, had to relearn how to ride this thing.
  20. Ride in Florida during Snow Bird season??
  21. Mine I have go "in line" with the OEM cable. Then when you want to talk you push a button. When your done and dont want to listen to wind noise or background noises you push the button.
  22. Something like that can if its a seal or something "just go bad". but my weekly sort of check list is fluids (brake/clutch) tire pressures and tire condition (did I find a nail or something) and a once around. Brake fluid is cheap enough and with speed bleeders easy enough I have been changing the brake fluid & clutch every year I think.
  23. I will try and see if maybe I am inadvertently pushing the button. But I think I was just riding not trying to adjst. But it was a couple weeks ago now. My new helmets came yesterday and the mounts should be here today i think. SO maybe get them mounted up and give it a try this weekend.

Check into sync carbs, might help. But the "gas" smell sounds like its running rich. AS mentioned check the oil level, it could be the carbs have leaked while parked and washed down thru cyl into crankcase.
  25. AWESOME just friggin AWESOME. Its OK because it looks like we will be able to make "baby" Treude (sp) jokes soon.
