  1. This bike does have one thing that can't be bought anymore. Does any of the older Ventureriders know what it is? Yep, it's the grill cover. Made by the late Steve Warner.
  2. Thanks fellas! I'll try this this afternoon.
  3. Well there's something common to both of us. My wife's headset is Edsets also. Maybe it has something to do with the mike sensitivity in the headset. Thanks for the input!
  4. Did you by any chance remove the flat spring located on top of the caliper under the 2 pins that hold in the brake pads? This spring is there to reduce chatter in the pads, I think.
  5. Yep for a single seater, belt drive, vtwin, open bike, it looks pretty good.
  6. Thanks for the feedback ya'll. This is something new to me. I thought at firsy it was my phone being so close to the mike but that wasn't it either. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to clean down in between the prongs of the cable connections? Is contact cleaner safe to use pn these?
  7. Could be getting wet. Went on vacation last week and got caught in a rain shower. Since then every time I try to turn up the volume so my wife and I can talk it gives off a high pitched squeal. 15 and below, it sounds OK but above that we can't bear it. Also does it sometimes when reconnecting helmet cords. What's good to clean the connections with?????
  8. Don't feel too bad Dan. Age is just a number!!!
  9. Anybody else get squealing in headset when IC is turned up above the 15 setting?
  10. Miles per gallon and miles per tank are relative to the position of the right hand.
  11. I'm sorry just call me a tightwad. No way I'm gonna spend. $30k+ on a bike unless its a trike. Especially one with a fugly front fender like that!
  12. Hey Eck, the wife and I were there yesterday late morning. Had lunch at Arby's before coming on up to Chattanooga. Went to Ruby Falls this morning.

This week was the only week my wife and I could both get off work at the same time so we have been nearby in Fort Payne since yesterday. We spent the day today exploring the backroads around the Little River Canyon and DeSoto Falls. Had a ball before coming back to Fort Payne and visiting the downtown area and dining at Ryans. Beautiful area. Tomorrow we move on over to Guntersville and points beyond. Hope you all have at least half the fun that we did just today. I'll let you in on a secret. There are some roads around the Little River Canyon that make the "Dragon" and the "Triangle" look tame. I mean they are not for the faint of heart!! Ya'll have fun and be safe!!
  14. My advice, beads if you don't want or need the sealant. Otherwise use RideOn and get the benefits of both.
  15. Drain the carb bowls snd see if there's any water in the gas. Water will plug off your jets.
  16. I've also had good luck with E3's. BUT , the last one I pulled off was cracking bad on sidewalls and showing signs of delaminating. So no one brand works well all the time.
  17. That's fine. That's your priviledge. My opinion is if you haven' t tried it ..., well , you know!
  18. I tried it. Didn't like the way the bike wiggled around. Went back. My friend has one on his GW. It' s a fireworks show trying to follow him so I know for a fact cornering is no problem!
  19. I' m glad to hear everything is OK. Keep adding the miles and smiles.
  20. I'd patch it from the inside and put in some RideOn.
  21. Maybe the previous owner was a NASCAR driver!!!
  22. Just keep in mind that you're going to have to get all the board and metal dust out of there somehow. Maybe some type of vacuum??
  23. Hey man, don't give up!! I think you may have finally diagnosed the problem, so now you can fix it. See if you can take an emory board nail file and clean it up right where it's messed up at. Patience is the key. Do a little at a time. Take several breaks if that's what it takes. You can do this! And even if it comes to the point of removing a cam, there's plenty of folks on here that can guide you every step of the way. Just keep us posted.
  24. If the cam lobes are pushing down on the shims it's gonna be hard if not impossible to turn the buckets.
