Well I suggested and volunteered for the Maggie Valley location. I have been there and it is beautiful country and nice riding. That being said, I also voted for WV.
-
Talking about just the Venture, '83 - '93 is a first gen. '99 and up is the second gen.
-
Well the folks that volunteered will have to post links if they have them. I posted a link in the first thread where I volunteered. Here it is again. http://www.smokyfallslodge.com

Yep, I created that new thread pointing to the poll just after posting the poll. Great idea Puc. A bit late...but GREAT idea.

My first bike was a Honda Sport 90 when I was 14. My dad had a little 3 HP Mercury boat motor that he never used. A friend Granddad had the Honda and wanted the boat motor so my Dad let my little brother and I trade it for the Honda. It was a great little bike but sharing one bike with your little brother just doesn't cut it so soon thereafter, I bought my own bike, a Harley 250 Sprint. Neither of these are pictures of the actual bikes but identical to what we had.

If you are REALLY trying to sell it, you need to put it in the classifieds. I assume this is a joke though.

and now we know. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HKEuzxC4eGc

Well the part number is shown right in the listing and seems to be correct. Boats.net has them also and shows what they are supposed to fit. You posted this is the watering hole instead of either First Gen or Second Gen tech talk so I am only guessing that you want them for a first gen. That part number appears to be only for the Royal Stars and the second gen Royal Stars and RSVs. http://www.boats.net/parts/detail/yamaha/Y-4NK-14714-00-00.html

As far as I know, it's working correctly. Did you complete all the steps?

Some folks will tell you to NEVER mix a bias tire and a radial. The fact is though, Yamaha even sells a bike with one of each. I personally wouldn't be afraid to do it. That being said, I have to also admit that I have never tried it so can't speak from personal experience.

Shawna, Thank you for taking the time to post here and telling us a bit about your charity. Sounds like you are doing good things.

Please take the time to vote. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?108934-Internatonal-Rally-Location-Time-to-VOTE

Poll is open at: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?108934-Internatonal-Rally-Location-Time-to-VOTE

After giving the members a few weeks to make their recommendations and step up as volunteers, it is now time to put the location for the 2016 International Rally up for a vote. If a location is preferred that you do not see on the list, it will be because it may have been suggested but nobody stepped up to help organize it. Hopefully, I didn't miss any of the locations that were suggested and supported with a volunteer. This poll will remain open for 14 days. Just a quick summary: Maggie Valley, NC Viroqua, WI Richmond, IN Mississippi Gulf Coast (October) Ontario, Canada Davis, WV

OK...I think this has been discussed long enough. If anybody was interested in volunteering and recommending a location, they have had time to do so. I will go through all the responses and create a poll now.
-
OK....sorry that I spread false info. I guess it's been too long since I've owned a First Gen. Didn't know that they are a different size.
-
I think it's the terminology that is confusing the issue. The bars are the same size. The sleeve is the sleeve, NOT the bar. Like I said, many (I thought MOST) times the grips come with a new sleeve and just slides on. I've never seen anybody refer to the right side as being 1 1/4" because it's really not.
-
I'm a little confused. You said you got the left grip off, that is usually the one that has to be removed using air or in my case, I just insert a thin screwdriver between the grip and the bar and work it around. It's the throttle side you are having a problem with though. It's been my experience that the throttle side uses a sleave and the entire thing just slides off.

OK folks, this is what I have found out. NOTHING! Actually that is not entirely correct. I have found out some things but just NOTHING from the chat provider. The chat room is hosted on a remoter server separate from our site. I pay yearly for the hosting. I think it has been a pretty good solution. There have been a handful of glitches over the year but it has been much better than previous chat solutions that I had tried. The companies website is still up but submitted support tickets to tech or sales are not being answered. I did some more research and leaned that it is not just us. Nobody is getting replies, chat rooms have expired and other than their site being up, they appear to have gone out of business. Now I never did any autopay with them. They would send me an invoice and I would pay it. This year I never got an invoice. They do have an automated online payment system. A LOT of people have lost money by using that system because it is still taking peoples money but nobody is getting anything that they pay for. So...it appears that the chat room is dead for good. At least the one we have used for several years. I will have to do some research and see if I can find anything that will work for us that is somewhat affordable. Will let you know as soon as I can.

He is still a supporting member here. You can send him a private message. He was last active here at 10:04 a.m. today. Here is link to his profile. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/member.php?10098-Golf-amp-Venture -
Don't know what you are using but the old chat room is still not working. I've received no response to my email so far.

1st job employment experiences,, oh those wonderful first jobs..
Freebird replied to cowpuc's topic in Watering Hole
hmmm....first job. I guess I was in the 4th grade so what...9 years old? There was a miniature golf course within walking distance of our house. Back then, they used sawdust instead of the artificial grass that is used now. So my job was to smooth the sawdust a few times throughout the evening. I had a stick with a rope tied to each end and a sheet of carpet nailed to it. I would drag that carpet to smooth the sawdust. I don't remember how much I was paid but I think it was about 25 cents per hour and I got free golf passes for my family. -
Apparently it expired the end of July. I pay it annually. Again, they failed to send me any type of reminder or invoice so like every year, I just sent them a message telling them that they screwed up again and to get it turned back on and send me an invoice and I'll gladly pay it. They have a good chat solution but terrible to deal with. I will get it turned on ASAP unless they try to jack the price way up as they usually try to do.

Folks, I simply will not pursue this. I always understood that there was a patent on the product. If there is not, I would need proof of that. If somebody else wants to do all the footwork, get the permissions, etc., I would be willing to submit it to my people about manufacturing them. If it were to work out, I would be willing to sell them to our members, the Venturerider members, or whomever at the same price but I am not interested in fighting any battles to get it done.
