  1. On the second gen, you are at max at 7 psi. Anything above that and I assume that you are risking blowing the seals. I put Sonic Springs in the '99 and will on the '05 at some point. Then you don't need any air.
  2. That's pretty interesting. Doubt I'll do it though because I honestly have reached the point where I seldom exceed about 5 MPH over the speed limit and around here, that would be 75 MPH.
  3. I can't find that picture for some reason. I did restore the pictures in the first post. You can see in the second picture where it is inscribed "G".. it would be just like that but with an "I".
  4. Do you have a URL to that thread?
  5. I just added the pictures back to the first post.
  6. If you forget anything, I have ball end allen wrenches.
  7. My current zero turn snapper is a 52" or 54"...can't remember for sure. I bought it primarily because of all the bushes and etc. that Eileen has planted over the years and I figured it would be easier to get between things. I think I will be OK with the 61 but still may consider the 52 when the time comes. As for the Briggs engine, I've done some reading on some of the commercial mower sites and opinions are all over the place. Some swear by the Kawasaki but others have had problems. Some love the Kohler IF you get the right model. Same with Briggs. Like I said, my Snapper has a 21HP Briggs Vanguard and it has been a pretty darn good motor. It has 2000 hours on it and still doesn't smoke or have any major issues. I did have some problems a few years ago when it bent the push rods. They are very easy to replace but I was out of town and my brother in law took it upon himself to do it. He overtightened and valve rocker on one side and stripped the threads in the head. I tried to helicoil it but it didn't hold so I ended up putting a new head on it. Even that was only about $300.00. Now the fuel solenoid appears to be bad and they around hundred bucks. So about $400.00 worth of repairs in 2000 hours and 10 years. That's really not too bad at all and I'm sure that the bent rods were because I neglected the valve adjustments. I honestly can't complain about the Briggs Vanguard. Now these commercial Huskies have the 27 HP Briggs Endurance motor. It is supposed to be a commercial motor. I don't know anything about them except that they do have the large cylinder type commercial air cleaner.
  8. You can demo my Huskie at maintenance day. Use it all day if you want to.
  9. You are all welcome to meet up at my house also and we can ride over together. Folks, for those who haven't been here before, though Saturday is he official date, some people start showing up here on Thursday and most of those camping don't leave until Sunday so don't feel that you are imposing if you show up here on Friday. You are more than welcome to come out and visit.
  10. Jay, I don't know that it will be comparable to your commercial unit but I've become a fan of Echo equipment that Home Depot sells. I can't tell you how many gas powered string trimmers I've been through over the years but about 4 or so years ago, I read a lot of reviews and ended up buying an Echo model. It has absolutely been the best trimmer I have ever owned. It starts easily every spring and has never had a hiccup. I do a LOT of trimming around here. Just going around the pond alone takes a while because I trim about a 2 ft. path because I got tired of dragging the snapper out of the pond. Also the easiest I've ever had in regards to putting on new string. I've paid a lot more for others but this one was under $200.00 and I would buy another one in a heartbeat. I've got a 4 stroke Toro out there that I don't even touch any longer mostly because it is way too heavy and a pain to string. I was so impressed that two years ago when I was looking for a backpack leaf blower, I again bought an Echo model. It was right at $200.00 and so far has been fantastic. EDIT: Jay, forget what I said about the leaf blower. Everything I said about the string trimmer is correct but I just went out and looked and I actually did NOT buy the Echo blower. It is a Husqavara. Now it has been great but like I said, it's only two or three years old so I can't yet attest to it's longevity.
  11. Puc, that's very similar to the one that I was looking at except the one I am considering is the 61". They do have that special going on. I saw one deal where you got the mower along with a backpack leaf blower, a weed eater and a small chainsaw all for a price a few hundred dollars less than the regular price of the mower. Also 0% financing for 42 months. Around here, Skag seem to be the brand that most commercial mowers buy. You see a few Exmarks, an occasional Dixie Chopper and etc. but by far Skag is the dominant one. My next door neighbor bought a new Skag a couple years ago and loves it. He mows about the same size lawn as I do and gets it done pretty fast. His yard is much different though. He doesn't have a pond and not near as many trees. His is also much flatter. There is no doubt that a from deck mower with the big drive wheels in the front would work better for me. They are much better about getting under low growing trees and bushes, better on slopes and around ponds, etc. I don't know of any that are less than about 12,500.00 though and that's a lot of money for me to spend on a mower. I thought I wanted the Ferris 800 series but I went and looked at them and tried one out. It was just shy of 13,000.00 with a gas motor. The Diesel would have run another 2,000 - 3,000. That would be my choice. The front deck Kubota would probably be my second choice but they are even more than that. When I do have to buy a new one, it will likely be the Huskie.....I agree with your neighbor in that it's about the best bang for the buck from what I have seen. It is a commercial grade mower. Cast iron spindles, commercial type air cleaner even on the Briggs model, upgraded high back seat, rollover protection, etc. You get a lot for under 6,000.00. By the way Puc, I noticed that he bought it at his local Farm and Home Hardware store. That's the same chain where I was looking at and would buy it. The Farm and Home in Wellington about 6 miles from the house.
  12. That would sure be good about now. Can't do it though.
  13. LOL...WHAT mower. One is at the shop and the other broke the deck belt yesterday. No mowing here. Did get some weed eating done though and the rear deck pressure washed.
  14. I just added some pictures back to the following thread. They are not circled but you can see them. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?77989-In-regards-to-refurbing-a-TCI-box
  15. OH...and by the way....I've done the Seafood thing twice this spring.
  16. Looks great. I love it when my yard is all freshly mowed and trimmed. The problem is, especially this time of the year, it really needs to be done about twice a week. Right now we have had so much rain that I have to pull my Agri Fab leaf vacuum behind the mower and have to dump it about 5 or 6 times each mowing. I hate using that thing too. It completes negates the benefit of having a zero turn mower. I have a lot of trees and bushes too. I think that my wife sits on the front porch and watches me mow. If she sees any place that I don't have to go around something, she plants a tree there.
  17. Yea, that's the next thing. I got the pressure washer out yesterday. It hasn't been started yet this year. Didn't even try last night because I didn't want to go to bed mad if it didn't start. I will try it today. I expect it will be OK though. It has three things to remember. On/Off switch, fuel cut off switch, choke. I ran it out of gas the last time I used it last year so it will have fresh gas put in it today. It has been a good one. I bought it several years ago and it has a Suburu engine. Hopefully it won't let me down.
  18. Did that twice already. Pulled the carb and cleaned it on the outside with spray carb cleaner and then took it all apart. It was actually very clean on the inside. I had already put at least two or three tanks of gas through it this year so the gas was fresh. Still, i completely disassembled the carb, removed anything rubber or plastic and soaked it for almost an hour. Ran wire through all the jets just to make sure that they weren't plugged. None were plugged but I made sure to clean them very well anyway. Made absolutely no difference. Thought that maybe I missed something so pulled the carb and did it all again. Still didn't help. I'm 99% sure it is the fuel solenoid. When I gook it apart and pulled the bowl, there was no gas in the bowl. The when I pull the line from the fuel pump, gas comes out under pressure. The only thing that could be preventing it from getting to the bowl is that fuel solenoid plunger.
  19. Yea, I use the old John Deere primarily for the snow blower but I can put the deck on it if I have a problem with my main mower. I honestly can't complain too much about my Snapper. Like I said, it's 10 years old now and 2000 hours is a good bit for a non-commercial mower. I'm sure I could spend just a very few bucks on it and get a lot more years from it. That may well be what I do. We'll see. I hate to spend even the $6,000.00 that it will cost to replace it. If money was not a consideration, I would buy a front deck Ferris diesel. I think a front deck would work better for my needs than the mid deck models but they are all expensive and I just can't pay 13,000 - 16,000 for a mower.
  20. My new RSV has HIDs in the headlight and passing lights and they seem to work very well. I've read many posts here though about the trouble people go through to make them work properly and I can tell you that the fist time I have any issues with the HIDs, they will be replaced with LEDs.
  21. This is actually the one that I came very close to buying the other day. It is their commercial version and for the price, has a lot of nice features. It was on sale for a little less than the price shown. This is with a 27 HP Briggs Endurance motor. Don't know much about that particular engine model. The Briggs Vanguard on the Snapper has been OK though. They offer this mower with three different engine options. You can get it with a 23 HP Kawasaki for $400.00 more or a 27 HP Kohler for about a thousand more than the Briggs....so they list for 5999.00 (Briggs), 6399.00 (Kawasaki) or $6999.00 (Kohler). I've heard good and bad about all of them but would likely just go with the Briggs. http://www.husqvarna.com/us/products/zero-turn-mowers/m-zt-61/967177007/
  22. I notice that the Bad Boy posted above only has a 3 gallon gas tank. That is comparable to most of the residential zero turns I suppose but one thing I'll miss about the Snapper is the twin 7 gallon tanks.
  23. Yea, none of them are made like they once were. Snapper and Simplicity are actually the same company now. I don't remember which one bought the other one but it was a few years ago.
  24. It does have spindles that can be greased and I do that on a fairly regular basis. Gas is fresh. I'm almost SURE that it's the fuel solenoid. Don't know what else it could be. If I had it here, it would take about 15 minutes to verify. I just can't see paying 10,000 to 12,000 and higher for a good zero turn commercial mower. This one has lasted 10 years at about half that price. So the commercial one would have to last at least 20 years to make sense economically and I doubt I will be here in 20 years. I will either be dead or living some place with a smaller yard or no yard.
