  1. And, just looked at the HF flyer that is sitting on my desk, page 7. Shows Tag-Along on sale for $369.99 (reg $449.99) and the $20% coupon on the front does not exclude it. This is good through 8/31/14,,, so, a few more days. Real good price if you are not looking for a high $$$ trailer.
  2. I've also had good results with "Junkware Removal Tool". Seemed to get rid of some others could not find. (But, I use it when nothing else works,,, cause it could remove some friendly files. (Seen a blog saying someone lost a game license file. I don't game.)
  3. I see they have a $25,000 model,,, got 4 at that price. They are 4D. You put them on and sit on your bike and,,,,, damn it feels just like you are sitting on your bike. Reach out and you can actually feel the handle bars. Turn the key, you can actually feel the engine vibes. Crack that throttle, you can smell the carbs warming up. Skully,,, the full involvement helmet. Just as good as being there.
  4. My sister-in-law, rest her soul, had similar to several glasses. They had rings around the inside,,, but did not fall apart. BECAUSE,,,, she washed dishes with her diamond ring on. Any chance of that? Oh,,,, sorry, I just saw Iceburrg said same. Okay, I second the diamond cut. You may have to consider either divorce or a electric dishwasher to get past this. The dishwasher is cheaper.
  5. About 65k miles on my 09 RSV. (two up and trip traveler) About 99k miles on my 06 RSTD. (my daily commute bike) Both running fine. But yeah, warranty stuff was shocks and fuel pumps on both. Also on RSTD, stator and R/R and ignition switch. Neck bearing on RSTD not warranted.
  6. I have the MC II on rear of my two Royals (E3 fronts). Probably got 30-40k miles that way,,,, no problems, dry or wet. Disperses well in heavy rains. And, never had cornering issue but,,, I ain't going to push it either.
  7. Al, next time,,,,,, eat lunch at the Banner Elk Café. GREAT FOOD! (MMMmmmmmm) Mike G.
  8. Dale, You are in luck. Changing the oil on the Venture is easier than on a car. Other Star bikes have multiple chambers. The RSV simply has a drain hole, a filler hole and a filter, all easily accessible. Only tools, 17 mm wrench and maybe a big channel locks if the filter is stuck on. When the oil is down to drips, you might sit on the bike and lean it to the right for 30 seconds, then put back on kick stand to get a bit more oil out. Be sure to wet the new filter o-ring with oil before you put it on. Just don't over fill. Put the first 3 quarts in, then put somewhere between 1/3 and 1/2 quart more to finish. You can have a friend look at the sight glass when you stand the bike level,,, or use a mirror on a stick. And, go over the link Steve provided. Really, this is a easy bike to do. (might also see how to change oil in the rear end,,, easy too.)
  9. 50+ years ago, my sister had one as a pet. Scared to death of spiders but loved that snake. Go figure.
  10. Still missing. Owner speculates it may be headed for South of the Border. SO, you in TX, please keep an eye out. Thanks, Faster Jake!
  11. It's always a new tire. If a simple nail hole, not a tear, not sidewall, I rope plug and follow with slime (because I can find slime,,, would prefer Ride On). And PS: Cycle Gear will remount a tire for $15 if it is off the bike. Did that for a cracked valve stem. Did not ask if they plug.
  12. Might try, in this order: RKILL (root kit killer- free,,, stops some processes that hide viruses ) TDSSKiller (similar function -from Kaspersky - free) Junk Ware Removal Tool (free) Then use your AV scanner. These are all free and can download,,, if your PC will let you. Read up on anything before you use it. The Junkware removal tool took care of a nasty root level bug, like you have, on my wife's PC that nothing else could find.
  13. I'm posting this for a Chicago area STAR member. Some one stole his 2006 Roadliner out of his driveway last week. Paint job, unless they repaint is real distinctive,,, Blues Brothers. If you should see this bike, please post,, and PM me.
  14. The lift does not have a model number that I see. Seller said he bought it from their show at Myrtle Beach around 2002, likely from Tony. I'd guess it is the standard (but he had a Harley Electra Glide, so?). No turntable or air lift. Do you know hot to tell the difference in models between STD and Dyna? It's been shop kept, clean and not used much and it does pump and held me. I know on my previous mc jack, the bottle was first to go,,, if they did not get used much. I got it for about half price of new, less shipping. I may jack my bikes later today,,,, don't know that I will jump on the bike in the air!!! (Giving my old jack to my son-in-law who has my old Roadstar, that weighs much less and better balanced for a lift). I'll tell you if the Carbon One adapter works with this jack. I know Larry likes to know what jack you use cause the arms are different lengths and he has an extender for some. Mike G
  15. Monty, WELL guess what,,,,, I looked on Craigs List about noon and found and bought a used PITBULL !! 200 miles later and I got one. So,,, let me know when he makes the adapter. Hey, have him make two if the price is not too bad,, I'll buy one. But in the meanwhile I will try my Carbon One. It will likely fit.
  16. Yeah, with two pairs of reading glasses,,,, excludes,,,,, floor jacks. Thanks,,,,,, well kind of thanks.
  17. Thanks, I got the Carbon one adapter some time ago, for a Larin jack. On the Larin, my second bottle has died but it is too shaky when the bike is up to fix again. The obvious jacks are Pitbull @$514 delivered then J&S , about $50 cheaper. But,I don't want to spend $500+ on a MC jack I will use few times, so wondering if anyone knows this model.
  18. Just got my August Harbor Freight flier. They have the old steel jack,,, no thanks. But now they have a new model aluminum jack. Says reg price is $250, on sale for $190. With $20% coupon on flier, would be $152. http://www.harborfreight.com/retailflyer/index/product?id=60636 I bought the little sister of this, a car jack a few months ago. It looks like probably same manufacturer. Nice aluminum car jack. Happy with it. So, does anyone have this new HF MC jack. If not would someone please buy one and tell me if it is sturdy enough for a RSV. Sale and coupon are good through 8/30/14. Let me know, THANKS, Mike G. http://www.harborfreight.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/370x/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/i/m/image_23588.jpg
  19. I got an Exigent half cover for my RSV. It is black parachute material and real well made. They make full covers, rain and dust. I found him at the Outer Banks rally an Easter or so ago. The dealer is the manufacturer and prides his work and backs it up. http://www.exigentbikecovers.com/shop/
  20. More info: http://www.baggersmag.com/bagger-motorcycles/indian-motorcycles-new-2015-roadmaster?src=SOC&dom=fb
  21. My neighbor bought a Indian Chieftain a few weeks ago. (same bike as this one but more solo.) It is a beauty in person. Great tech setup, power windshield, lot's of power. His is black and chrome, looks a bit like my Midnight RSTD all fancied up. But I'm good with what I got for a while. Just see where it goes. What I am hearing from Yamaha reps is they no longer play dumb,,, they got something they ain't saying.
  22. While at STAR Days in St. Charles, MO last week, Bob Starr, US communications director for Yamaha said,,,,, wait,,, a bike for Venture owners in 2015. Me and a friend chased him down before the evening was over and,,, of course he still said stuff but said nothing. I told him that half the bikes at STAR Days were Ventures and they are loosing us. He said a bike is going to come out in 2015 and would be for Venture owners. I said if it does not have a V4 or more I'm not interested. He smiled and said "Please Wait", indicating to me that it IS NOT a V-twin cop out. SO, again, nothing said,,,, but I think that 2015 will have a product for us. If you don't want to wait,,,, LOOK AT THIS: (Indian Roadmaster about to come out) http://www.baggersmag.com/bagger-motorcycles/indian-motorcycles-new-2015-roadmaster?src=SOC&dom=fb Mike G.
  23. Wow guys, that was a lot of work to get $12 out of K. Well worth it! Stick around K. Mike G.
  24. K, Just verification,,, when you are on 5th,, the green OD light is on? But, stock transmission, 75 mph in 5th should be as comfortable as, say 50 in 4th. You might backtrack owner(s) as see if the V-max was installed.
