  1. Ok, one more note and I'll shut up. I had read that removing the slave cylinder was a PITA; I agreed at first but I found what worked well for me. In the pic the gold cable management clamp is the real obstacle. I took a flat blade screw driver, after removing all the wires, and a rubber mallet and bent it down as far as it could go, both the top and bottom lips. When you do this there is nothing restricting the removal of the slave. This metal is very flexible will bend back to it's original shape with ease and with zero damage. Just my two cents.
  2. My old one looks like its been through WWII on the inside!!
  3. This is the old one I just removed with just 30K on it.
  4. I've only been riding a Venture this year and Praairhammer, and others, have helped me greatly! Now, who is coming over to assist me in a Clutch Slave replacement??
  5. Finally got my slave from Partszilla. I've seen a lot of questions on how the final seal is oriented so I'm posting this pic. I hope it helps someone. $90 delivered to your door. I think a new cylinder is the way to go vs a rebuild JMHO
  6. I bought my 89VR with 27K miles and it's as clean as that one and I only paid $1,200. NWIH that bike is worth 5K+.
  7. Hey PH,you have some keen eyes sir, good job!!
  8. I was born and raised in SE Tennessee and I can confirm the people there aren't smart. I was a Senior in HS before I figured out that Damn and Yankee were two words he he
  9. Anybody had a problem with these people? I've been waiting 16 days to receive my clutch slave cylinder!!

  11. OMG if it was a contest you win lol
  12. The huge traffic jam. I waited on the side of the road for over an hour till traffic began to flow again. Funny note. Because my bike is two toned blue like our state police cars: One woman said what is happening up ahead officer. LO freakin L
  13. OMG I used speech recognition and didn't check it. Want I wanted to say is that that bike is so clean it glistens. lol PPL must of thought I was off my meds!
  14. And bite your soap-free neck listens. Nice ride.
  15. I miss-typed I first used 20W-50. Will
  16. I put around 3.2K miles on my new to me Gen 1. When I got it I changed the oil and used 5W-20. This time I used 10W-40 and I'm pleasantly surprised on a couple of things: 1. The starter bogging down issue has improved a lot. 2. The clutch feels more snappy Maybe it's all in my head but all the voices can't be wrong. @(~_o)@
  17. That sucks!! I'll put in a good word for you with my friend "J"!!
  18. now that was funny, KUDOS!!
  19. I'm out on my gen1.2 and would like to say good morning to everybody hope you have a fine day.
  20. My friends 2018 Yamaha does this and being an Amateur Operator I knew it was sending Morse code. It is sending "I am an awesome bike, but don't you miss you Gen 1 Venture?"
  21. Ok, thanks but I was just LOL'ng
  22. The waterfall looks great but I'm a little disappointed in you!! "Rockers and Stoners"?? I expected something different!
  23. I did a little more adjusting of this mount and the only thing you can't see is the ignition. The USB connection port has a blue led to aid in connection in the dark which made me believe I was going to have to install a switch to avoid battery draw, but after looking closely a switch is mounted just above the USB port so that was nice. I can see all the gauges and the cruise controls nicely. I highly recommend this holder!!
  24. That is truly a bummer but at least you ppl are safe. I live in the boonies and deer and moose are the main reason I limit my riding at night!!
