I have a 1st gen. I am wanting to put a splitter in line with the cb for comms. I will also be pulling the cassette deck and building a ipod dock there. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

Has anyone tried to figure out the pinout for the CB radio patch cable? I am trying to make a adapter to go between to run a 2nd radio and a cellphone. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

I am thinking you could use the factory rubbers so it would be about the same spacing. The microsquirt would go in place of the CDI since the microsquirt will controll spark and fuel. This setup should give good performance with less maintenance. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

I couldn't find anything on putting a vmax wheel on the venture but I did find something on putting the venture wheel on a vmax. If u remember there was a width issue. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

This person used gsxr throttle bodys https://www.saarloos.net/megasquirt-projects/yamaha-vmax-msefi.html Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

I would be using the micro squirt. I did see the websight that you are talking about I also saw someone efi on a vmax using gsxr throttle bodys. I was thinking of doing a intake manifold with the injectors in the runners. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

I ride year round so the efi would be nice as the temps dip south of freezing plus the self tuneing aspect and you can run a megasquirt as a flex fuel. I am almost back to full strength but the fused joints in my foot will never go back to the way they were. That said one of the first things I did when I was out of the boot was get on my wife's 250 rebel and go for a short ride (the vibrations hurt like none other) Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

It is the first step in larger grand plans to build a efi set up for the bike. I just moved in to a new house and there is a vmax sitting down the street with the dreaded 2nd gear failure that I could use as a template of I can talk the guy in to selling it. For now I would use a webber progressive carb. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

I finally fixed my front upper mount. It is a 1/2 rod end bolted through the upper bolt hole on the frame dropout. This was in answer to the never tight frame clamp that came with the sidecar. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

I am looking to refresh my sidecar rig and am eyeballing a vmax down the streat that has been sitting for years according to the guy next door. I know the engine and finle drive will drop straight in but what about swingarm and rear wheel. The vmax is supposed to have a 15 inch rear wheel which would be easier to get a car wheel. Can you add a 2nd radio to intercom?
mantree91 replied to mantree91's topic in GPS, Audio, Electronics
My 2nd radio would have to have a custom Mic plug made up anyway and I would be using a Bluetooth unit for the rider and hard wire for the back seat and if possible sidecar. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk -
He did post a update There is a guy who used a VW type 4 intake to make a manifold for a goldwing The part isn't horribly expensive http://www.ebuggies.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=00-3241-0&gclid=CjwKCAiA24PVBRBvEiwAyBxf-al8qd1L8rQPBj7o7kABpxWQgcCyyCNJL4IuCi6dINV6RcI1xJogYxoCNHkQAvD_BwE Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

Can you add a 2nd radio to intercom?
mantree91 replied to mantree91's topic in GPS, Audio, Electronics
Yes, ideally I would daisy chain off with a 2nd ptt switch mounted on the handlebars. I would also like to find a way to add a 3rd intercom line but that is a problem for a later date. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk -
I am looking at getting my ham ticket and would like to add a 2m radio to my intercom. Has anyone else incorporated a 2nd 2way radio?

It would be fantastic if you were to copy it. I just knew that sidecar riders would be interested Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

From experience tires are ok to be put on a narrower rim. My 31/10.5r16 inch tires on my truck recommend a 10x16 rim but I have them mounted on 9x16 stock rims. I worked out according to 6.496 inch section width with factory tire is about 5.51 inch wide leaving a diff of .986 inch or .493 inch per side. If someone who has there bike handy would check clearance from factory to swingarm that would be fantastic. I am really sick of burning through a tire over 9k on my sidecar. So I did a bit of searching and I found out that that it actually has a section width of 6.495" where as stock tires are 5.51" so that's 0.986" wider or about 0.493 per side. Dose anyone know what the drive shaft clearance is? My bike is sitting in a garage about 30 miles away. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

So I think I have found a car tire that would fit our 1st gen venture. It is meant for the British cabs. https://www.universaltire.com/175r16-austone-taxi-black.html It is about 1 inch in diameter bigger and just a hair thinner. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk

I will throw the radio back in soon and see if that layer was important. If it is I will try th find something that will work in place of it. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

When I started rebuilding my audio system I realized that the screen had a layer of film that was pealing off under the face. Has anyone else come across this Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk

Right now I have a full set of metric sockets and wrenches and a 4in1 screwdriver but I am thinking of trimming it down to the sizes I need and being rid of the rest Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
