  1. Yeah, most of us try to forget that one LOL.
  2. No words. Healing thoughts to you and yours
  3. I think I like this bike, it looks very good, and the reviews say it's a peach to ride. I'll want to read a few full tests, and of course I'd love to try one out myself. The price is a real blocker for me, over 30k here in Canuckland. No chance I can spend that kind of money. Especially on a bike that is pretty much only designed for long haul riding. I'm not saying my first gen is perfect for running errands or even just quick trips, but I think it might be better than this behemoth LOL. The fact is I don't have time for a real long haul right now anyway, and in my mind that's what this thing is exclusively designed for. Paying over 30k for something I'd only really use to it's full potential once a year is just not gonna happen in my world. So Yamaha, I'm sorry, but I won't be buying one. I'll expect to see a bragger version of it soon as well, but still way too expensive for me. I think I'll keep my first gen, and maybe find a smaller bike or scooter for running errands/riding to work. Pity though, as it sure is pretty.
  4. Maybe I'm just lucky, but ran a Kawi 454 for a year up in the north country, where I lived 40km from town on a gravel road. Had a hell of a time keeping tires on it, but not a single problem with the belt. Again, might just be lucky.
  5. Put another 300km on her riding around the Fraser Valley, and out to Columbia Valley South of Cultus Lake. She's not running super smooth so I'm gonna pull the plugs and have a look.
  6. Absolutely nothing against belt drive here, in fact I like it. Like a chain without the drawbacks. JMHO
  7. I like it. wish it wasn't Aircooled, and 4750 redline? Seriously? Wow. i wanna ride it to see.
  8. I appreciate the skills, and the work put into it, but I don't like it at all LOL.
  9. Not real big on taking a lot of pics, but here's a shot from yesterday. Roadside pullout on Mt. Woodside, was on my way to Harrison Hot Springs. Note the Kawi green helmet LOL.
  10. Ok so I picked this girl up for $1500.00 Canadian, and I've put 500km or so on. Time for a few observations. I come from the sportbike world so this is a really different experience. First, I really am not a fan of the braking on this bike. I know this isn't a surprise as I've read quite a bit about the failings. Really don't like the linked brakes, maybe it's something I'd get used to, but I think I'm gonna eliminate it instead. Don't have a lot of money right now so it'll keep. I'll look into the fork lowers swap when time permits, but I may end up with a total front end upgrade instead. Still depends on if I plan to go with collector plates or not. The power is actually not bad, especially since the whole plan was to slow down a bit and enjoy the scenery. For that part the bike is fantastic! Very comfortable, very smooth, and still pretty quick. Handling is ok for the speeds, but I think I see some possibilities for improvement. Still getting used to the weight at slow speeds, but it really does seem to go away at speed. I have ridden a Goldwing briefly, and so far I like this better. All in all, I'm gonna ride the wheels off this beast for the summer, and make my decisions about upgrades over the winter.
  11. Glad you're here to tell the tale, bikes can be replaced, people not so much.
  12. Cool, I can get it working for now and track down the proper switch later if I decide I want try the cruise out. Or do as you're planning and add a relay later.
  13. not sure I care about the cruise, but that's because I've never had it on a bike. Maybe I'd like it LOL. Sure would have been a bad idea on the ZX-14 anyway ...... 230 kph, set cruise LOL. ill have a look at it, and if I could use the two wire without causing any other problems, I might just throw it in for now.
