  1. Go see an acupuncturist, it will not repair damage but relieve pain. That with physio put all my shoulder pain away within about 6 weeks. Some physios do acupuncture as well.
  2. Aren't the Maple Leafs always on the golf course early? This year joined by the Canuks! Oops excuse me I have to go turn the heating system off, it's getting too warm now.
  3. I have been trying to remember to use my facebook to "check in" and that marks a map on your facebook "wall" I know not everyone is into facebook but it is another good way to track.... I know I will be marking The Dalls!
  4. just to clarify.... you are saying it sandwiches between the bar and the reservoir not on the lid?
  5. I have a clock that will mount on the front brake reservoir, it would look good but then I learned how to bring up the stock digital clock. push and hold the select button on the dash by the fuel gauge, presto a clock. temperature... auto zone or similar or you can buy Yamaha accessory for the handle bar. yamahasportsplaza.com go to OEM accessories.... Star OEM accessories.... select your year.... have fun Then you will find this..... http://www.yamahasportsplaza.com/oemcatalogs/p/yamaha_motorcycle_cruiser_2001_royal_star_venture/star_accessories-billet_chrome/4ff76af9f870022970e61e1e/dual-split-ring-mount-by-marlins-white among other wonderful things. :mo money: :mo money:
  6. Have I seen recently reference to someone selling a re-jet kit for the 2nd gens? Who, why, how much if anyone knows please. All I see in the thread search is discussion of pro and con not sizes or why you would do this? Will this help the 2nd gen back-firing? No disconnecting the AIS does not magically get rid of the back firing, there is a cause that the AIS amplifies that I need to track. It is not: carb sync; valve adjust; AIS; dirty carbs; dirty fuel, but it could be jetting.... I think, maybe.... well possibly anyway. Thanks but fun
  7. I used Metzler ME 880 front and rear on my 86..... I loved them. Great handling and real good in wet. I did a lot of 2 up and year round riding. Sold the bike 3 years after install with them still on and in good shape. Everyone will have their favorites, I have Avons on my 02 and I can say I am not as happy with them as with the Metzlers.
  8. You can go to "thread Tools" at top of a thread and "subscribe" to the thread and you can have emails sent to you when someone posts to that thread to keep you informed.
  9. Brain wash you now? You were brain washed a long time ago to get you here... we just making sure it sticks longer. hang around Rick.... how bad can it be......
  10. Our local PD has been riding them for about 3 years now with mixed reaction. Our PD did order them with shiny paint, in black and white, as they were switching the cruisers back to black and white from all white. They are definitely cheaper than Harley or BMW and according to stats more dependable as well. A friend of mine has ended up servicing them and the big issue he has had is the "main fuse" located up front get soaked and shorts out. They do hit the front crash bars easily on heavy maneuvering I did notice watching the international PD Bike Rodeo last year.
  11. first tip: pay the $12 you will not regret it 2nd tip: rear brake at low speed (parking lots etc) 3rd tip: find out if you have a local rider training organization that offers experienced rider training, they will help you learn the feel and how the RSV can handle. 4th tip: ride it lots and have fun.
  12. Who is Mark?

  14. Don, power to you both. These are the times that make our marriages stronger, 33 years of experience here and many strength building days, weeks and months involved. As was said by others I am very happy that things are getting better in your relationship. I am also very happy to hear your problem was not serious health issues as others had mentioned. If the Lord helps.... take all the help you can. Stay strong and ride together. KC
  15. I have not seen them for the TD no..... But have not looked for that use either.
  16. In my workplace we call that a near miss and it must be reported and rectified on the spot. If they were contractors they would be dismissed on the spot. Our Moto, nobody works nobody gets hurt, if there is a chance of getting hurt, contract it out.

  18. I have long felt... if your guts and brain say today is not a riding day.... don't ride. The first time I had one of those feelings was on a holiday weekend... groups from around town wanted a ride... I was going to go... bright sunny summer day... but it felt wrong that day.... went to the lake with the wife and her family. Well the ride got out of hand and one of my riding buddies (Jana) that had as good of brain as I would have had decided to leave the pack... I likely would have joined him. Jana never made it home that day... killed by a drunk driver. I listen when the mind and body say stay home.... Get strong.... be safe
  19. I believe from the comments in the other forum there is an abort or cancil "button". I don't know about where you live but here you get a $167 fine for having your phone in your hand when driving. Dont have to be talking or texting just holding it. More people are killed by texting and driving than drinking and driving.
  20. This came through to me from a local forum I am on.... it sounds like a good idea, not unlike the SPOT unit that would send out an email. Here is a link to an Android app called Cradar that can sense when you crash and if you don't move at least 8 feet in 30 to 120 seconds (whatever you set it for), it will send a text message to somebody. You can also set the sensitivity. Don't know if it's useful, or if it works, but hey it's free. Would be worth trying out. http://actionxl.com/CRADAR.html You can download it free from the Google Play Store.
  21. Link does not work Rick.... at least not for me.
  22. Good on you... do keep us in the loop as to if it stays away. I have done the seafoam cleaning... a few cans, carb sync, valve adjust, AIS disconnect, and removed K&N for stock style replacement filters and the back fire as bad as ever if not worse. It goes to mechanic next week for the carb adjusting and re-sync. Hopin
  23. Now someone tells us.... I have thrown out 2 or 3 mags because of this.... thank you.
  24. Where do you mount this? Trunk or side bag? The CD just took too much space.
  25. Stop knocking plumbers, we gotta pay for our bikes and cars and gold pipe wrenches some how! But seriously yes if you are paying a contractor, permits, disposal yes it adds up quick. Independent guy like me it is going to be 150 plus anything I use, possible travel, possible disposal costs as well. Unfortunately seen a guesstimate is 250 yup. Most contractors around here are close to 100$ per hour.
