  1. Zero buffeting with stock windshield it is however quite tall, over eye level which makes it hard to see through in rain or fog. I installed a much shorter one but that has led to a lot of wind noise and buffeting. I am going to cut down the stock one to just under eye level and see how that works.

  3. I have been able to remove a lot of mold with just WD40 and vinegar works well too.
  4. I recently installed the EBC pads on my venture. Love them, so much better than stock bike stops with authority now.
  5. Very scary to ride without being able to see in front of you. I replaced my stock screen with a much shorter tinted one. It looks good and now I can see in front of me in rain and fog. Regarding the headlights be very careful what you do so it doesn't damage the bikes electrics.
  6. I'd say that getting comfortable with the bikes clutch friction zone and throttle as well as rear brakes are key to mastering low speed maneuvering on any big bike. Once you get past walking pace the ventures are really good handling rigs for what they are.
  7. Interesting concept, there is no shortage of suspension specialists here in the US and some one should have a solution. That being said with the price of aftermarket suspenders I doubt that you will find any thing for less than $1000.
  8. I got to ride an M50 for a day and found it to be a nice little bike aside from the aforementioned high speed vibrations. In my opinion it's a great around town and on secondary roads. The only concern I would have is that your kids might outgrow it pretty soon.
  9. No I am actually a marine tankerman, that is I load and discharge oil and gasoline products off ships and barges. Lately I've been doing a lot of work for the Navy in some of their more remote outposts near the equator in the Pacific and Persian gulf and it is hot down there.   10. All good idea's .the most important one is to stay hydrated at all times. I routinely work in very high temps doing physical labor and there is no way of directly combating the heat and discomfort but as long as I drink plenty of water I'm fine.
  11. Check the intake boots between the carbs and cylinders. Its real easy to do get the engine running then spray some light oil at the boots if they are the culprit the engine will smooth out. This is a real common problem on older bikes.
  12. I'm averaging about 35MPV on my 2011, sometimes I can get it up to the low forties in steady state cruising with the cruise control. Just wondering how the jibes with the rest of you folks.

  15. Hope to see a new venture. They already updated the V-max some time ago and could probably modify that platform to make a new tourer.
  16. Still have the warranty and the dealer has worked on it several times but because the problem is intermittent the thing works when they give it back to me. And yes, the controller goes blank as well. Thanks for the input guys.
  17. Seems like the radio on 2011 RSV doesn't like water. It stops working any time it gets wet such as in rain or after a wash. It returns after it dry's out but I'd really like to find out what is causing this. Hoping some one has any idea's regarding this issue. Thanks
  18. Could be anything why not start the bike and make sure everything is OK.
  19. If possible replace the single caliber fronts with dual caliber fronts then replace the rubber hose with ss hoses. more aggressive pads are sure to help as well. Start with that and see what it does, it might be all you need.
  20. While it is possible to drain the oil with the forks mounted it is much easier with them off the bike. You will never get all the gunk out of the bottom of the fork unless you turn it upside down and as long as your in there it is a good idea to change the fork seals and inspect for wear. One thing I don't understand is mounting progressive springs, since these are air forks the air is naturally progressive.
  21. Given that our bikes last seemingly forever I don't see the site slowing down very soon. And I think it it is very important to all of us that we spread the word about this great organization. Good work all lets keep it going.
  22. Just my two cents worth but I've had that problem on a previous Star with aftermarket exhaust turns out the jetting was to lean I fattened it up a bit and the popping disappeared.

  24. My 2011 is probably very similar to the bike you rode though steering is slow and heavy but very stable and predictable in turns.
