By the way I just google mapped brown county , In.(prior to posting) WOW!!!!!!!!!!! didn't know indy had such nice riding areas, and it is centrally located....BUMP!
  2. cannot get any pics to load? And nobody else has posted any. R we having site problems?
  3. a BIG thank U to all the committee, and anyone and everyone involved in this rally! I WANT MO!

  6. well I'm trying to dial my carbs in, and have run into a problem. I've removed them, installed 17 pilot jets (15 is stock), opened each pilot air screw 1/4 T, and installed 1/2 sized ( not full thickness)small shims on 3 of the needles. Then broke 1 of the small tabs off , on the 4th slide. (that holds the needle in) These things are PLASTIC! anyway, waiting on the new slide, from yami. If any carb guru's can lead me in the right direction.........? how sensitive to small changes are these carbs? pilot screw- 4 idle only? pilot jet for idle to mid? vacuum operated slides and needle for mid to high R's? I have k+n filters , iridium plugs, dyna 3000, and rush slash cut slip-on pipes. 90 degrees outside, full choke, long warm up. very very very small lag off idle when opening the throttle. 42 mpg + hwy. she's been cold blooded since new , but a bit worse after the 4 performance upgrades mentioned. Advise? I know sell the bike? , clawed ......my needles had a shim on top and at the bottom. (stock) should I put the half sized shim on the needle first or the larger stock one on first? Who's on first? .........OK, anyone that tackles this job , be very careful with the plastic vaccum pistons, and needles. When reinstalling the needles, hold the piston, insert the needle pin, install the spring on the holder plug, the push the needle up to access it, hold the needle, slowly mate the spring with the top of the needle, keep some pressure on the needle, and let it slide through your fingers, until the holder plug meets the locking tabs. (press it in and check the needle for play) 18 miles on it today, it starts better, runs as good or better, in the midrange, and still runs great on the top end. Very smooth......and I still need to do a sync! I'll check the mpg, on the next tank of gas. DON'T BE AFEARED ......JUST DO IT!
  7. My experience.....went form yamalube @3000 miles to amsoil....went from clunky, noisy, and tuff shifting, to quiet, smooth shifting. I do not use my clutch 80% of the time, while shifting. R U lugging the engine....cuz at low r's that gear/shaft slop is really exaggerated! keep us informed...........clawed:cool10:
  8. invited another rider, and he will have a wife , on the back! so, 2 more........
  9. I'll be there.........and wife:bluesbrother:
  10. Just found this thread.....talked to the wife.....and I think we will be joining in on this root beer run! 7/19/14?.....where?.....and what time? C...U...there, CLAWED:fingers-crossed-emo
  11. I took my passenger seat apart, and cut a "V" @ the tailbone, (about 2" deep)then, took a 1/2" to 0" off the top/back. The good lookin' gal that rides on it claimed she felt like she was allways sliding forward. That straightened her rear out!
  12. I use my shop vac, with two extensions, and the brush attachment....................works for me
  13. Anybody else going to the races Sunday? Maybe a meet and eat there? Clawed:confused24:
  14. wife and I made it back, also. and ditto on the rally committee ,... guy's and gals....thank u...thank u...thank u, from clawed & jan!
  15. I'll place my vote, on #3.......horizontal, at the bottom......works great for hiding the wires!
  16. Hello there bmccck, The whine everybody talks about, is only through a small portion of the RPM range. When the rpm's are below the range...NO Whine...when the rpm's are above the range....NO WINE! But, while u are in that rpm range (maybe 2K), the noise can be quite loud on ___some___ of these V-4's. Had a different clutch basket installed, and NO WHINE anymore! ( "I" basket) This was done under warrantee. These are very mechanically sound motorcycles....the primary gears meshing create the noise. These engines like high rpm's (they r not V-2's) so, if ur engine is not humming, u are lugging ur motor. Many people think they should sound like a harley...WRONG!...R's up no whine. And mine sounded like a sparrow chirpping, in perfect timing \ beat, in the affected rpm range. Don't be Afeared, buy the bike CLAWED!
  17. !st thing I wud chk...the rubber vacuum caps w/clamps. remove and chk/replace them. they R the little port covers where u sync the carbs.
  18. OK, I guess I'll do some tests, and try to figure this out. Something is moving, that's not supposed to, or something is not moving the way it should! Maybe there is a solution/ maybe NOT! All RSV's do this off the showroom floor. and yes I continually swap pads/ 2-3k:fingers-crossed-emo
  19. don't think so, as the rotor wud be on the dynogoggle, and both inner and outer pads wud wear the same?
  20. GO 49er's!......A quick ? Any of u that have changed out ur brake calipers, to R-1's etc......Does this take care of the un-even pad wear, in the rear brakes? Has anyone done the trouble shooting, and find what the problem is? Thank's for any answers....
  21. I'll 2nd ....on the diamond R! adjustable, and removable, with what u have in ur tool :cool10:kit. 2-3 minutes.....and very comfy.......................1 bolt removal @ hinge.............
  22. congrats' , Good luck in 2013! Yup, I just got my 1st pension check..........
