  1. Ok Puc I may need the suit back. VOGEL IS COMING.
  2. I bet there is spooning going on. ........ Just saying.
  3. There is just one more thing I'd like to say. I too love spooning, just not tires.
  4. Amen brother, I understand. I too grew up on horseback and understand where you coming from. Riding the big beasts ain't for old bags of bones such as ours. I'm just proud of you doing what your doing after all you've been through over the past few years. No matter how you do it. Gotta also be proud of Tip.... and Tweeksis. Y'all obviously got the teammates thing going on. Thinking of you reminds me to Carpe Diem. I only wish I could have half the fun that y'all apparently do. Come on down to Vogel we'll skip some rocks and howl at the moon.
  5. Ok Puc, Not trying to beat a dead horse. And I get it that we are two different kinds of riders. I've had two many life endangering experiences in the middle of no where, with no chance of help to ever consider going off road on a Venture. I also get it that I'm not your moral judge or compass and fully respect your right to do you own thing. Apparently what has worked just fine for me through the years just ain't your cup of tea. I'm ok with that too. I'll just offer one last suggestion that may just be the answer to your whole argument and mine. Have you every thought about getting two saddle horses and a mule.
  6. Yeah Dan, cage it. I'll probably drive the comfortable convertible instead of the bike. When it rains or gets too hot with the sun blazing down on you, I've got options and air conditioning.
  7. Okay Puc, I've been biting my tongue trying to keep my opinion to myself but, based on your tire life history this summer I just can't be quiet any longer. Please forgive me if I open old arguments and hurt your feelings a little. But, like my mommy used to say "This is for your own good". So here it goes. 5 rear tires in one riding season, WTH. Short of spinning them off doing BURN OUTS or something, IMHO I gotta think there is some other factor at play here. I get it that you do more miles than most folks. I also get it that your out west on less than asphalt smooth roads and it's hot out there in the desert. But in 08 I had a similar experience in Tucumcari, NM where under all exhausted options I was forced to mount a used HD Dunlap on the rear tire to get home. I got 20 k plus on that used tire. I wrote a good story about that adventure on here back in 2008 called " 100 miles to Tucumcari on a May pop Metzler".' Look it up that was a good read. I'm not saying, I'm just saying. Either your not running the right air pressure, buying too cheap of tires or the way you pile everything on the back of your bike when traveling has got to shorten your rear tire tread life. I know we have covered this ground before. And I know that your not in favor of what I'm about to reiterate here. And I'm really not trying to open old wounds here. But, because I luv ya man, and this is for your own good. I'm just gonna say it. Get a trailer!!!!!!!!! I just believe that distributing the weight across the trailer tires instead of all of it piled on the rear of the bike has got to improve your tire life. Plus you'll end up much more comfortable toting your gear cross country. Just my opinion. There, I've said it. I hope I didn't hurt you feelings. Just want what's best for you Dude.
  8. Cool I'd go back to the 1st gens if I could get one like that.
  9. I don't have any thing booked. I thought I'd bring my tent and take my chances on finding a spot to pitch it. I may just come hang out with you. Bring extra WV WL.
  10. Don't count on the bears staying away. There are so many they are migrating to Atlanta.
  11. I know it would be a tight turn around but if there is anyone from WNY heading south for solar eclipse and Vogel that would be really cool I wear it at Vogel. ANY CHANCE YOUR COMING DOWN FOR THAT. YOU AND I HAVE SOME BARNSTORMING TO DO.
  12. If you want to keep the suit and wear it at the WNY rally I'm ok with that Have at it, I wanted to make a game of trying to see how many places we could could get the suit to travel to and how many people with the right physique we could get to be willing to wear it and document the event by posting the video. Kinda like a where's Waldo Superman. If we get get a souvenir patch on the cape of all the places the suit has been that would be cool too. Anything to stir up Big Tom, Bongo and them works for me. I'd really like to see a vid of Big Tom buying Superman Ice cream instead of eating everyone else's.
  13. The speed, alcohol and texting does not surprise me at all.
  14. Good for subway Sturgis. I'd start using them more around here but all of them are owned by foreigners that don't speak English. I hate placing food orders that require so many decisions with someone who doesn't understand what you're saying. That's just me. Great reporting on the tech things. Ride on main street was fun. Looks like you Tip and Tweeksis are having a great time. Still haven't been able to watch all the vids. My phone keeps running out of juice. Where is the suit traveling next? Any ideas?
  15. where is it at. It didn't upload. Don't keep me hanging Puc.
  16. I stopped at the Vietnam Memorial in Angel Fire, NM on 08 Sturgis adventure and ended up spending the whole day there. If You ever get back down to Taos Canyon area of N M it is well worth the stop.
  17. I think it looks cool, just can't get past air cooled v-twin. And the price. Not in my immediate future.
  18. Wow where did you find that diagram? That answers a lot of questions.
  19. Man I completely missed that what season? What episode? Now I got to go back and pick that up. So what your saying is Ned Stark is not Jon's father.......... Mind blown.
  20. Back in olden times when armies fought with swords, pikes and shields the most effective soldiers were the Archers. Archers were the most feared and the most hated type of soldiers there was because of their effective weapon, the bow and arrow. Archers could fling clouds of arrows from great distances thinning the opposing armies out way before they could get into effective range to use the hand to hand combat weapons of the day. Since Archers killed from safe distances they were despised as cowards. So if Archers ever got captured they usually were tortured rather than being given the honor of a hero's quick death. The most favorite form of torture that they would use on the Archers was to cut off their middle finger on their bow string hand so they could no longer pluck the bow string and fling arrows great distances. This would effectively destroy the Archers specific skill rendering them useless as Archers. So when opposing armies would square off against each other and before the battle would start, in an act of defiance, all the Archers who had not been captured would raise there middle finger high in the air to show their enemies that they still had their plucking finger. That display of defiance would often be accompanied with a loud cry in unison of all the Archers, "WE WILL PLUCK YOU TO DEATH" Through the years that insult has morphed into a common insult that means something completely different today that I am too much of gentlemen to repeat in this forum.
  21. Yea I can't wait to see the vids either......I've been back here in Georgia having Puc Video withdraws.
