How did we go from me thanking members to pygmies!!??!?!?!?! :confused07::confused07: I am learning how things get turned upside down and inside out around here:lightbulb: But that's ok, as long as no-one calls me late for dinner, we'll be alright:big-grin-emoticon:

Boomer, If your talking about the "simply Dragonslayer" I've got a VERY good friend in ATL...he's a JUDGE:rotf::rotf:, so he better play nice:big-grin-emoticon::big-grin-emoticon:
  5. For that price, nice bike...but a little high on the km's. Maybe for a few extra bucks, you could find a year or two newer, with less km's. just a thought.

    Thank You

I have to say "thank you" to the VR members. first off to freebird, for not deleting my previous post and allowing the VR community to view it and decide. second, as a "newbie" you all have shown me what a true club, group, family does for one another. I saw it in how many members viewed the post. and also in the responses that made it writing. You all made me feel very welcome, and supported. Support comes in many forms, and you all were there to hear my "cry". Reading the posts, not just mine, lifts my spirits. and that in itself is what I needed also. This is a place that I know I will be for awhile. You've made a "stranger" a BELIEVER!!!!! And lastly, I do look forward to being there for others, as they may need assistance from Me in the future. :bighug::bighug:
  7. I went on the advice of my Yamaha dealer, and went with the Dunlop Elite III's. The front tire was 179 and the rear was 175. Now they said these tires were rated for the size of the bike, have great longevity and were good overall. Mileage 20,000+ easy. Had them on for a year now, hardly any wear on the tread, I cannot notice any sound from them. So, check these out, they work for my 84'. :080402gudl_prv:
  8. True test of mans best friend!!! Lock your wife and your dog in the trunk of the car for hour... when you open it.. see which one is HAPPY to see You!!! :rotf: :080402gudl_prv:
  9. :bagpipes-emoticon:HAPPY BIRTHDAY:bagpipes-emoticon:
  10. Similar subject about the air compressor, my front holds air, but the rear will need to be aired up on a daily basis. any thoughts???
  11. I just did the same exact mod to my '84. I actually mounted a bracket coming down from the bottom rail of the side bag (behind the bag) and then over like a 'L" shape bracket. But for the adapter pipes, went to an auto parts store, got the 1 1/2" galvanized pipe that is 12" long, it has a flared end that is abt 1 3/4 and the other end is 1 1/2. If you get the couplers that fit over both ends of the pipe, you won't need any gasket. And what I also did before final mounting. I got some engine paint at lowes, 2000 Degree paint, and painted them, then followed the instructions to bake them. Flat black looks real nice, before the chrome slip-ons.
  12. Great view, but NOT for me:no-no-no::no-no-no:
  13. Walmart in upstate NY is $48 for the pair. :cool10:
  14. Yeah I got the 9003 Silverstar ultra:lightbulb::lightbulb:
  15. Thanks, went with the silverstar Ultra's. $15 you say, Try $48 for the pair. Couldn't find individual packs. Oh well, got a spare.
  16. Is the 1st gen a sealed beam or is it just a bulb replacement like the average car? and how do I get access it?
  17. See we want the sound but not the cost, and we want the longevity of the Yamaha!!! :stickpoke:
  18. Guess I am still young:cool10::cool10: but just giving some options that were not mentioned. Back of the pack, back of the room in school...coincidence:confused07::confused07: I refuse to grow up:lightbulb:
  19. Or you could always get a set of Vance and Hines, or Rhineharts and no drilling would be involved. But an amazing sound would be allot better than stock hd pipes. 20. OK, being that I know the oil level is good, is the light something I should really worry about? is there a way to bypass it? or just ignore it?
  21. Here's one for you guys, I have searched many pages and have not seen anything about this. I change my oil regularly and the oil level is fine but at different times on a ride my oil light will start to flash and at some points stay on for what seems to be minutes. Sometimes I engage the clutch and rev the bike it may go away. Any thoughts as to what the cause of this is?
  22. That's a trick question BigTom, and you know it!!!!! The answer is Jim Dandy!!!!!! :clap2::clap2::clap2:
  23. does it really matter where in the pack your position is??? Really??? And come on now, how loud can a 1st gen get with a pair slip ons? My neighbors sporty 883 with SE II's is still louder then mine.
