  2. 1999 Honda Valkyrie Interstate. I sat on one 26 years ago and would think on getting one. Now there is one sharing room with the Ventures. And I don't think they care for it much. A friend of mine had this one and it had gotten to be a topic of when he was going to get it back together again after taking it all apart to fix a few things and just give it a good going over. He has been slowly losing his zest for working on cycles and for riding also. as it seems has been happening to a lot of us. We were out for breakfast, and he was telling me that he had decided that I needed to bring a trailer and pickup my Valkyrie and get it out of his garage that he wanted some more room. I asked him how much and he said its yours to take and bring it back to its glory. So, after breakfast I went home got the trailer and tools and after around 4 hours was able to get it on the trailer. I had a few days off from work, so I got busy on it. Changed all of the fluids greased and cleaned and tuned and got to take it out for a ride. And it purrs like a kitten. We went to a get together in town for collectors and antique cycles and got a lot of looks and compliments on it. And he said that he was happy to see what all I had done with it and couldn't believe how it turned out. I tried to give the key to him and said its yours take it home with you. He said no that's why you got it. Have to say that it felt good that he was so happy to see it like that. But it hit me that one of my oldest ridding friends has decided that his time for ridding is done. I did tell him it won't ever be sold it will be handed down to the next one that has that gleam in his eye for a cool old cycle. And that it's going to be a while before that happens because it is way too much fun to ride. Not as comfortable as the Venture but I think I can get it close. Orlin

  4. Got out for 50klm ride to Kitchener Ont. to meet up with @ReinyRooster and Don for coffee and to pick up his carb tuner! had a good conversation and decided to go for ice-cream. Only @ReinyRoosterand I went as Don had other things to do(his loss) Ended up going to Listowel Ont. which is 48min.and 60klmfrom where we were! Was fairly strait roads but was STILL A RIDE with the prize of ICE-CREAM in the end! We had hard ice-cream in a cup which was worth the ride! We parted ways on the way back around Anna Mays(very popular Mennonite restaurant) and was an hour and a half ride back home for me(90klm). NO I didn't have trailer so couldn't shop anywhere! Ended up being a very hot ride but don't care! was great to meet up with someone! Weather said it was 30 to 40degFer. with humidity! Hope this won't be the last meet-up!

  5. I remember when I turned 16 my Dad said I could only buy a bike as long as I took a motorcycle safety course. I signed up that spring and over a long weekend we drove non stop on little Suzuki 125 dirt bikes…if I recall correctly. Great skills and information learned. I even got a slight reduction on insurance from taking the course. He will enjoy it. Good luck to him, Mark

  6. A friend of mine just turned 70 and traded in his full dressed Harley for a Heritage Softail Classic. Much lighter to ride and he’s enjoying it. That’s a nice transition bike as we all get older and want to keep enjoying the open road. I hope you enjoy your new bike, Mark
