  1. Just about ready to set off on Saturday. We are going to Colmar in the Alsace region of France (that's our 'base') and taking in the Black Forest in Germany and Lucerne in Switzerland. A bit of rain in forecast, so, the only decision left is, do I take 'full waterproofs'? I don't remember ever getting uncomfortably wet on the RSV.

  2. The first 3 pics are random shots in Oklahoma, the rest are pictures of our ride from Roswell NM to Ruidoso NM. Roswell is 3500 ft. elevation, and Ruidoso is 6900 ft. It was very warm in Roswell, but that changed quickly in Ruidoso. We stopped for lunch and put liners in our jackets. But the time we stopped for fuel 20 minutes later, we decided chaps and heavier gloves were needed. The locals say this has been a very cool spring for them. These are pictures leaving Roswell NM and heading toward Tombstone AZ. They all were taken in NM. We stopped for the night at a rest stop in Arizona. 4-28-23

  3. Maybe the tank isn't venting properly. If it happens again, remove the gas cap and see if there is a vacuum on the tank. Just guessing.

  4. Hey Ben, The first thing I would check would be the function of the Cooling Fan! As a rule, these bikes will run pretty close to normal if you were making a highway run because of the air flow over the radiator. Around town, (stop and go traffic) is where your cooling system depends on the flow of the water pump and radiator fan. Are we to assume that the coolant is 15+ years old? Another thing to consider is your bike poorly tuned? (Carb. Sync., "Crusty Plugs", gummed up Carbs., etc.) You didn't mention mileage. Even things like low tire pressure will put extra load on the engine while riding, and tax the cooling system. All things to take a look at. Good luck with this project, Ben! Earl

  6. Well, I'm not sure if you would consider the Polk DB402 to be budget friendly but they are the most recommended speakers for our bikes. The fact is though, I think that most speakers, including these, will end up being a disappointment. The fact is, our speakers are simply too small and there really isn't room to add larger ones. It's always be a big drawback on this bike. https://www.google.com/shopping/product/8790422499816718377?q=4"+Polk+audio&espv=2&biw=1920&bih=987&bav=on.2,or.&bvm=bv.132479545,d.cWw&ion=1&tch=1&ech=1&psi=5HHTV7XVJoKq-AGMobi4Aw.1473475045123.5&prds=paur:ClkAsKraXwFgK-i3qYqzDeA5rZOl9jY6Kt9R83DNFbbPl1wd6nd9DlL-au8izWL-w40rDxUDTOpVi0S5Vfs9qCaGEFzByRu-VJR_NE-X9cOXGZhJSSkIAueykxIZAFPVH710Zxr8CtuHI3Nw_7UhCJ_D9J7phQ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiQuISo4oPPAhWJ2yYKHWvUAAQQ8wII2gYwCw
