  1. The braking ring is supported by rivets with a light metal (typically aluminum) inner mounting ring. They're slightly lighter, not that it maters on our big o'l bikes. They dissipate heat a little bit better and since they float your less likely to have pad chatter. Biggest thing....they're chrome an match the "lighter" look of the bigger wheel with more open space than the stock rotors.

  2. I bought mine from Hannigan a few years back and installed on my own but when I have to use it I have to tell the wife before engaging the switch to prepare her from whiplash. LOL Nice to have when needed.

  3. I think that something like that is the answer. Unfortunately, the Amazon reviews aren't good on any of those, Bearings falling apart, mild steel jack screw, etc. I think I'm going to look at building one with a similar top rail but that I can use with a hydraulic floor jack. I'll see what I can come up with.

  4. Hannigan uses similar scissor jacks in their shop. I believe front and rear.

  7. If the carbs are leaking, gas might fill up any cylinder that has an open intake valve and if the starter attempts to turn the engine over the engine could be hydrolocked and bend a connecting rod. I think that is what they were referring to.
