Lowering kit

Installed Barons rear lowering kit, now when I hit a bump bottoms out on the tire. Got score marks on the tire. Any suggestions?

You might want to think about taking it up a bit, try 25 to 30 psi and see how that feels.

Thanks Squidley, I didn't want to over do it with the air pressure, do you know what the max pressure is, I don't want to blow the seals, if that's possible.

I'm not positive, but I believe the max is at 50 or 55 lbs. I'm sure others who have an owners manual will chime in.

I found a PDF online of an RSV owners manual which is in the post

On page 3-20 it gives the pressures, but in kPa which I converted over to PSI. It states 400 kPa is max on the rear shock, which translates to 58 psi maximum rear shock pressure. The front shock maximum pressure is 7psi

Thanks Squidley, I don't have the owners manual.

I have a Clymers Shop Manual but I could not find the air pressures for either front or back. I put it just under 25 psi and it still hit a couple of times on today's ride. Between the wife and me we're over 400 lbs so I quess I better pump it up about 10 psi more, or go on diet.

I run around 40 in my rear shock. I do a fair amount of 2-up riding with my wife on back.

Does anyone know if the rear shock can be repaired with new seals , or does it have to be replaced? Only holds air for a day or two.

One of our members rebuilds rear shocks.  Do a search and you should find out who.
