BigLenny Posted August 24, 2015 Share #1 Posted August 24, 2015 Is this as simple as it looks? It looks like it just plugs into the light bulb socket, but should i have some kind of relay in the system? Just asking before I do something stupid. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Yamaha-XVZ1300CT-Royal-Star-Tour-Deluxe-2005-2009-LED-Taillight-2010-0819-/361351162493?hash=item5422352a7d&vxp=mtr#ht_3761wt_869 BigLenny

habfan Posted August 24, 2015 Share #5 Posted August 24, 2015 I paid $89.95 for mine 2 years ago from Custom Dynamics. May not be legal in all States or Provinces though. good idea to check first.

M61A1MECH Posted August 25, 2015 Share #7 Posted August 25, 2015 That is a good price, have seen the same or similar for $100.00 + shipping. Put one on my 98 Royal Star in 99 and transfered it to my 07 Venture in 07 it was still on the Venture when I sold it in 2014, all tolled probably traveled 160,000 miles with it on and never had an issue. YamahaLarry Posted August 25, 2015 Share #8 Posted August 25, 2015 Looks pretty much like the same one on my RSV that I guess was installed by the PO. Mine is super bright, plus I have the 15" LED light bar under the trunk that is perhaps even brighter when braking. As for price, have no idea. videoarizona Posted August 25, 2015 Share #9 Posted August 25, 2015 Yep that's the one I'm thinking of adding. I was looking here... http://www.customdynamics.com/Yamaha_tail_retro.htm However you have a better price! david
XV1100SE Posted August 25, 2015 Share #10 Posted August 25, 2015 I did a write up on the run/turn/brake lights as well as the brake light replacement - http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?77681-Custom-Dynamics There is/was a discount code "rswarrior" that gave 5% off. Try that and see if it works.
M61A1MECH Posted August 25, 2015 Share #11 Posted August 25, 2015 Shameless promotion of my product. If you want more light back there you can add one of these also, http://www.venturerider.org/forum/photopost/showproduct.php?product=7&title=type-2-run-2fturn-2fbrake-light-bar-for-2nd-gen-ventures&cat=
