Peoria doesn't have any active train depots, but they do have a nice old one that used to be a restaurant, and in Mackinaw, there is a nice older one that is now a curio shop. But we have snow in the forecast for Monday, so might be Wed before I can get out. Also have a couple courthouses I would like to post if I can get to them.

It's 30 and below in the South Carolina right now so you will probably beat me to it because It's too cold for me to ride. Looking forward to seeing the pics always interested in history and the things that have been re-purposed.

OK, between rain fronts today (Wednesday, 2-15) I got the Wing out with the new Ultimate King seat and took a ride. Had lunch with some friends, and one of them told me about this wonderful train station, oddly sitting in a small town (maybe 6 houses?) that he said I should use as my scavenger hunt picture. So I took about a 35 minute ride to the small town, and WOW, one of those buildings with the glazed tile walls, traditional roof, and lots of neat decoration. Abandoned, but looking like it might not take that much to make it liveable! No train tracks left. So here is the picture.................................:crying: OH NOOOOOoooooo!

Dying phone battery would not let me take a pic!:headache::headache::headache::headache::bang head::bang head::bang head:

Oh, the new seat is WONDERFUL!:cool10: almost 2 hours of riding my backside had no hot spots, and the new seating position (moved me back about 2") changes the entire feel of the bike. I have had a love/hate relationship with this Wing since getting it a couple years ago. Now I feel it is truly mine. My Ultimate King seat has given me a throne worthy of the title, and I have a backrest coming to complete the ensemble.:happy65::happy65::happy65::happy65:

Sorry about all the multiple images, but that is/was the way I feel. oh and about that train station, now with the new seat, I am just waiting for the rain to stop, so I can go back and even if someone gets it in the meantime, you WILL want to see this station, and I will try to get lots of pics of it.

Everyone have fun, someone get a station before I do! :thumbsup2:

Must of forgot to hook up those seat heating wire, huh. LOL. Sorry Don, couldn't stop my fingers in time.

Sounds like a great depot though. I'll refrain from riding almost 2 blocks to our little depot museum so we can see the one you found. It sounds much better!

Thanks Bob, I know you held back some!

Oddly, the new saddle does feel warmer, it isn't heated, but I wonder what it will feel like in summer? May have to use the anti-monkey butt powder I got at our local motorcycle club Christmas gift exchange! :cool10:

The wife and I are taking a lunch ride today, and I will have the phone fully charged!

We took the bike to the ABATE meeting in Beaver Dam today and took a shot of this old depot there. They use it for the Chamber of Commerce now.

For the next target...

Since March is just around the corner, a pic of you and your bike and a LION or LAMB. Can be real, statue, blow up, or drinking fountain. Happy Hunting.

If I hadn't come down with some bug, .... so what is next?

Sorry Don, my phone isn't playing nice with this sight today, so things have been getting posted in pieces, when I can. Target is above now (and below), as well as a couple more pics of the depot area.

Hope you're feelin' better soon.

Sometimes I'm a bonehead. Sure am glad I don't need to hunt to put food on the table. We would go hungry on day's like today.

It was in the low 40's here today. Perfect day to sneak out for a nice ride during lunch and bag the current target. I had a nice little route planned that would take me to the main entrance to the Smithsonian National Zoo, where there are two huge lion statues. The construction detours should have warned me it wasn't meant to be.

By the time I got there I was running late and in a hurry to get back. So I parked where I wasn't supposed to (notice the no idling sign in one of the pictures) to snap a few real quick without checking closely to make sure I actually met the challenge.

Here are the results. You will notice that I am not in any of them! I thought I was in the one with the mirror, but alas I am not. So this one is still up for grabs.

Guess somedays you just come up empty.

Cheers

Boy you have good eyes I had to blow it up just to see the mirror stem:backinmyday:

I gotta agree with Joe, there just ain't no way I am in any of those pictures. Since this is an interesting target that everyone should have a decent chance to get, we should let it stand. Wouldn't be right me getting credit for an obvious misfire.

Looking forward to seeing what others can make of this one... And don't think I'm not planning another run at it for myself. I have a few other viable options thanks to google, so if you want to get this for yourself you better hurry!

Cheers and good luck.

What a stand-up guy! We give DanOh a free pass and he declines! :happy65: Integrity lives in the scavenger hunt! I really had no idea what to do on this one (lion or lamb) but DanOh gave me an idea, I think there may be some Lions at some county/state buildings in Peoria.
