naturbar Posted September 30, 2014 Share #5 Posted September 30, 2014 Just curious mega2500 if you do mostly two up riding or pull a trailer. 48lbs. Seems high pressure. I've been running venoms for several year (3rd set) and my last rear gave me approx.9k miles and seemed that the 42 lbs. I ran in it, wore out the center and 98% of my riding is two up. AKRefugee Posted October 9, 2014 Share #14 Posted October 9, 2014 I queried Avon about this a few years back. Here are the parameters I applied and the recommendations from Avon Bike - XVZ 1300 Royal Star, Venture, Classic, Tour Deluxe Tire Model - Venom Tire Size - 150/90B15 80H Tool Kit - 15 Lbs Rider Weight - 200 Lbs Passenger Weight - 150 Lbs Baggage Weight - 50 Lbs It is my understanding that different weights will change the optimum tire pressure. Can you please advise the optimum tire pressure for the following configurations as well as if there is a formula I can use to determine the optimum tire pressure based on load weight? Configuration 1 - Tool Kit, Rider - Configuration 2 - Tool Kit, Rider, Passenger Configuration 3 - Tool Kit, Rider, Passenger, Baggage weight Configuration 1 - Tool Kit, Rider - - 36 front 42 rear Configuration 2 - Tool Kit, Rider, Passenger - - 37 front 44 rear Configuration 3 - Tool Kit, Rider, Passenger, Baggage - - 38 front 45 rear
