86er Posted January 19, 2008 Share #1 Posted January 19, 2008 Go Riding! I'm actually giving a thumbs up, NOT what it looks like! (Well, except to Swifty!) http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e138/TMagEnterprises/Snow%20In%20Georgia/100_1302.jpg Yep, 26 degrees! (The 25 is the direction on the compass) http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e138/TMagEnterprises/Snow%20In%20Georgia/100_1305.jpg This is why I like to be able to see over my windshield. http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e138/TMagEnterprises/Snow%20In%20Georgia/100_1303.jpg Ice! And me without any Bourbon! http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e138/TMagEnterprises/Snow%20In%20Georgia/100_1306.jpg This is a view from my bedroom balcony. http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e138/TMagEnterprises/Snow%20In%20Georgia/100_1307.jpg View the other direction http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e138/TMagEnterprises/Snow%20In%20Georgia/100_1308.jpg Hey, I needed to go get a haircut! Squidley Posted January 20, 2008 Share #7 Posted January 20, 2008 1 patch of Black Ice and thats all she wrote Todd, I knew you were nuts the 1st time I met you, and you always deliver more confirmation. We dont ride in that weather up here because we know how fast the ice will bite you. Glad you got your polar bear ride in and lived to share the pics. 86er Posted January 20, 2008 Author Share #9 Posted January 20, 2008 The roads were still warm (over 32 anyway) and with the haircut I was only gone about an hour and a half. No ice on the roads and no salt/sand to worry about. Now tomorrow I have to go out at 9am for some testing at Fedex (wish me luck!) and it's supposed to get 18 tonight. It'll probably be about 23 to 26 when I leave. The roads are dry now and no precip expected so all I have to worry about is water leaking onto the road and I should be able to see that stuff. I draw the line (usually) at riding in the dark below 30, 'cause I can't see the ice. But it has been so dry around here for so long that no outside watering is allowed, which takes out the idiots that leave their sprinklers running out on the road. 86er Posted February 7, 2008 Author Share #11 Posted February 7, 2008 That motor's looking really good! Looks like it's brand new. I like the etching on, what I guess is, the windshield. Are you going to make the M&E Saturday, Bob? You can't use the bike as an excuse either, 'cause I see a truck and a car in the driveway!

cmiles3 Posted February 8, 2008 Share #13 Posted February 8, 2008 I rode in the snow at lunch- didn't plan it that way. Snow was supposed to be gone, roads were dry, where's the 50 degrees forecasted?

Are you going to make the M&E Saturday, Bob? You can't use the bike as an excuse either, 'cause I see a truck and a car in the driveway! :ice_thy-vi101212101I was real pleased at the way the motor turned out. Check my post on Poors Man's tips and fixes forum (2/2/08) titled " Making the engine show ready". On that thread I describe step by step what I did to the engine. But, now i'm somewhat stuck on a small pyshics problem getting the engine installed. Need help with the math.:sign09:I can't remember my high school algebra and pyshics. I was so sure I would never need that stuff so I forgot it. See 1st photo A= (my physical strength + 2hands available - cordination)X B= (additional person's physical strength + 2 hands available + cordination)+C= (available tools and equipment on hand)+ D=(Height motor needs to be raised to be mounted on frame)= E=(motor mounted on frame and project progresses) (A=1)x(B=0)+(C=1)+ (D=8")= (E=11) What's wrong with the math? (A=)+(B=)+(C=)+(8")= (E=) The windsheild is still a work in progress, not finished with it yet. (See Photo 2) I can't wait to see it mounted on the bike at night with the light on underneath it on which should make the image pop out. I'll add a post later explaining what the images in the scene symbolize. Yea, I'll be at the M&E, In the truck, Don't think I'll get the math problem solved by then.
