RedRider Posted September 12, 2011 Share #3 Posted September 12, 2011 If it works, the Heatroller is worth that. RR
relic Posted September 12, 2011 Share #4 Posted September 12, 2011 That is a good price. Our vests were $100 with no controller. I think I paid $25 for just an on - off switch, not a controller?
flb_78 Posted September 12, 2011 Share #5 Posted September 12, 2011 NO, dont buy it. Instead, please give me the information of the person who is trying to rip you off so I can tell them that they're bad people...

Michael_Bishop Posted September 13, 2011 Share #7 Posted September 13, 2011 I got one 6 years ago. I think I paid like a $150 for it then. They work great if it fits right. The shop I got mine from said you want it to fit snug and just have a tee shirt on then it. That way the heat is next to your body. The put your other coat on. I never had to trun it up past 3 and they goto 7.

myminpins Posted September 13, 2011 Share #9 Posted September 13, 2011 Definitely a great deal if it fits. As noted above, put it on with just a t-shirt. It should be snug but not tight.
Carbon_One Posted September 13, 2011 Share #10 Posted September 13, 2011 Well what size is it? If it's too big for you maybe I can use it. Larry
ragtop69gs Posted September 13, 2011 Author Share #11 Posted September 13, 2011 Well what size is it? If it's too big for you maybe I can use it. Larry He says it's a 40, we'll see. A 40 in a jacket is ok for me, i don't know as an undergarment.
ragtop69gs Posted September 13, 2011 Author Share #12 Posted September 13, 2011 Does anyone know of a reliable multi-meter test I can do to verify that this vest & control works?
RedRider Posted September 13, 2011 Share #13 Posted September 13, 2011 Does anyone know of a reliable multi-meter test I can do to verify that this vest & control works? Just hook it up to a battery or battery charger and see if it heats up. Won't take long to find out. A vest is usually between 50 and 100 Watts (should be closer to 50) so a trickle charger will likely be a little small. A full automotive style 6 amp battery charger will do fine. However, if you have a 12 V battery around, it would be the best. Start with the Heat-Troller turned off. Then turn it on to about 50% and you should feel heat. Give it a minute or two and then turn it all the way up. You should get uncomfortable in about a minute it all is working correctly. RR
