04 has no rear bilkers tail light flashes whats up??

my rear blinkers are not flashing. the front ones work fine. when i use the blinker either to left or right my brake light flashes and the blinkers dont ???

whats the problem and where do i start?

Kinda need to know what bike you have, but I would start checking ground points first. On the first gen the connectors are under the seat over the rear fender and the second gens are behind the license plate (?!). Start there and see what you find.

Does the brake light actually flash or just dim, I'm thinking shorted/pinched wire/s.

Also is it wired for a trailer? But as said before check the grounds first.

the bike is o 2004 venture. the brake lights flash when i use the turn signals. it is not wired for a trailer but i had a harley rear light set hooked in by the plate. That quit working so took it off to eliminate a problem. the brake lights work fine but when I use the turn signal the brake lights flash instead of the turn signals.

I didn't check the rear brake light but recently for me the front signals were constantly on like a running light and the rears were not on at all. Ended up just being a turn signal bulb that needed to be replaced. Also there was no turn signal indicator blinking on the dash.
