Tartan Terror Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 I use the Amsoil Synthetic oil 10w-40 (Motorcycle Specific) I have used others and just feel the bike runs smoother as well as researching all the data and checking ratings. I have used Amsoil in all my vehicles including truck and all the drivetrain in it.

Guest Thumper Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 Probably could have made this a survey. Amsoil 10W-40W Synthetic is my choice. During the summer months I use 20W-50W. Really hot in Florida.
RustyNails Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 I have been using Castrol Since I started riding in 1959, I have never had any trouble with it and haven't seen any reason to change.
darimont Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 I use Castrol Sen Tech 10w40. Never had a problem with it in the last two bikes.
Stoutman Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 Just switched to Shell Rotella 15W40 after running the Shell Rotella 5W40 synthetic. The synthetic came out of the bike real clean, like it was only a month old. I switched to the 15W40 to see if it would lessen the whine a bit. I think it did so I'll see how the 15W40 looks when it comes out of the bike. If it looks real clean I may put it back in again next summer.
