Depending on if I get everything done and loaded tonight, I would like to leave here right after work, about 5:30, on Friday night. That will get me there while it is still light out.

So I was gonna tell you that Fox Lake is farther West and here it stays light till about 9, so you wouldn't have to leave till almost 7.:stickpoke:

But then I read this...

I have a huge tent that sleeps 8.

You probably need the extra hour to set up camp.:scratchchin:

Hope to see you Friday, Scooter Bob

Doggoneit.... my TCI probably won't arrive back here by Saturday, which means the siccle won't be operational til Monday. I'm still maybe with tendency toward unlikely.

You could always just drive down here after dark,:scratchchin:

I heard there might be a 1st gen sittin' around.:confused24:

Well, as I was checking out the shifter cam, I noticed the tab over one of the pins was bent badly, and when I tried to bend it back, it fell off. I also couldn't rotate it enough to check all the pins, and I didn't have time to remove the clutch basket to see the other pins. So I guess I will not be able to make it since I won't have a new part in time. I will keep it in mind for next time.

Trailer and bike are loaded for the trip. Just need to stop for gas.

It looks like there will be a window in the rain for me to sneak up there on Friday night after work. I should be hitting the road around 6-6:30. With all of the construction going on it is a bear escaping Milwaukee on a Friday. It will take at least an hour to hour and a half to break free. Then another 1+ hours to get there.

The only kink still in this plan is if I do not like the way the loaded trailer is handling. If it is still wagging with the load and better tongue weight, I'll shift to plan 2 and come up Saturday morning without the trailer.

BOB

You need to get a hold of Freebird quick to get his contact info for the weatherman. I hope it is not to late to get that horrorcast for the weekend fixed.

Hey Freebird, thanks for contact!

Mid 60s and mostly cloudy, not bad for wrenchin!

Well I sure hope the weather is better tomorrow morning.

Even though it does not show on radar, there is heavy fog and rain right now.

I chickened out.

I never did like rain and I have never pulled a trailer.

Add in some fog and it overwhelmed my sense of safety.

I am hoping for better weather in the morning.

Ok so call me a fair weather rider..........
