1BigDog Posted October 29, 2009 Share #1 Posted October 29, 2009 Had a lump cut off the side of my chest today. It started as a tiny speck about July and grew about 1" long and 1/4" wide. No pain but it itched something fierce. My regular doctor couldnt figure it out so she sent me to a general surgeon who cut it off. A biopsy will be done and ill know more in 10 days. It wasnt real deep so im hoping it wasnt serious. Dr said he never saw one like it either. Joys of getting old......

mini-muffin Posted October 29, 2009 Share #5 Posted October 29, 2009 Well you just have to be different don't you. Hope it's nothing. Does it still itch? Margaret
Monty Posted October 29, 2009 Share #6 Posted October 29, 2009 I have several lumps, but they hardly ever itch. The Docs say they are fatty tumors, and won't hurt anything. I've had them for years.
First_N_Last Posted October 29, 2009 Share #7 Posted October 29, 2009 Monty; Aren't Fatty Tumors a pain! Normal health insurance won't cover removal. I have a friend who has dozens of them.
Monty Posted October 29, 2009 Share #8 Posted October 29, 2009 Yup. The Docs say it would be much worse to have all the little scars that I would have after removal, so I shouldn't worry about them. They don't bother me much. Most are about the size of a dime, or smaller.
