bugfish69 Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 Is there a trick to getting the zumo to pick up the contacts from my phone? I have deleted the connections several times and can not get the contacts or the call history to work on the zumo. On 2 occasions after parking the bike, removing the zumo and coming inside the house I noticed a message on the phone saying the zumo wants to download my contacts, but I can not get it to do this while i am actually trying. Thanks, Jim
Sleeperhawk Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 Hmmm, not sure, but on our Zumo550, the list was available after a few minutes. Now have to dig of for the Zumo manual, most likely a setting in tools.
SteveP Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 If your phone supports it, the phone should automatically try to send the address book, call logs and status (battery & network strength) to the Zumo. Depending on the size of your address book, it can take a while to transfer. I have about 750 contacts and it takes about 10 minutes to transfer via bluetooth. I have had some occasions where the contacts did not show up on the Zumo and I had to force a re-send. With my BlackBerry I can go into the Bluetooth options and force it to "transfer contacts" with just a few clicks. As the recipient device, the Zumo does nothing more than wait for data and/or calls to come to it. The re-send must be initiated from your phone.
Freebird Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 I haven't had a problem with mine and have had to do nothing other than let it connect. All the contacts transferred automatically. I agree that it probably depends on the phone.
BuddyRich Posted July 14, 2009 Posted July 14, 2009 Do an update to the sofware on the Zumo using the webupdater And select other updates. That should update the bluetooth driver on the Zumo. I still have a problem from time to time on my HTC Touch Pro. The phone is JUNK ! Doin a hard reset on the phone fixes it for about a month but I lose everything on the phone and have to reinstall.
