Frog Man,

Just did the Marshall mod. with the fold downs. The total cost, for both antennas and all associated parts, was about $1.00 cheaper (with shipping) than I could get 1 OEM CB antenna for, the cheapest I could find, without shipping.

One note, I did not have to buy the 12' cable that would go from the AM/FM antenna to the front faring. I did have to purchase the connectors that go on the antenna mount for the AM/FM side though. Got a couple at Radio Shack.

Another way is to use this write up, by Steve Bumgardner, in the Tech Section to transform yours to a single antenna:

Remember to set your SWR no matter what you get!

I put a (slightly) modified Firestik splitter in the box the radio's in.

I've already taken the antenna base off. The chrome you see over there is the chrome piece that mounts on top of the side bag. I reduced the image quality to make the pic smaller in file size. Perhaps too much? :)

You could just go to the local truck stop and get your self a firestik, heavy duty spring, and mount then change the end on the cb lead to the standard instead of this pl259 or what ever it is they put on it. Probably the least out of pocket if you don't need the fold down.

Anyway check out this link
