Harley Muffler mounting brackets

Recommended Posts

There was a package deal on e-bay a few days ago. I think the seller was a Hills. I just mounted mine today and used the "P" clamp. Simple, inexpensive and when mounted the bags hide it anyways. All you need is a 5/16 course bolt and a washer. The bolt need to be about .640 long I think is what I cut mine off to. I read 3/4 in length somewhere, but it bottomed out. So not wanting to run the the store again I just cut it down. I am working on another clamp besides the V-Twin 31-9920. Possibly J&P 4400201 or a 4400200. Listing dont say what size the clamp is and I havent had time to call and find out either. I think the ID of the clamp needs to be like 1 7/8

There are drawings to make your own if your handy.

I know I have a two or three pictures with dimensions some place .

We should put these in our knowledge base so others can find them each time this comes up.

On a semi related note. A guy here in town has 2 sets of brand new take off RK mufflers he wants $100 for. (pretty sure $75 will take a set) If he will take $75 there will only be one set left.

Are there adapters for my Ist Gen?
