GolfVenture Posted May 2, 2011 Share #1 Posted May 2, 2011 My choke level on my 89 VR moves to the left really, really hard. Any suggestions as to what I might spray into the cable. My 1st guess would be WD 40?

My 1st guess would be WD 40? Pick up some SeaFoam 'Deep Creep' and spray all the carb linkage and lube the cable. Work the lever back and forth will lubing. Should loosen it up. Venturous Randy Posted May 2, 2011 Share #3 Posted May 2, 2011 First of all, make sure the bolt that it pivots on is not too tight. It is usually held in place by a allen head screw. RandyA
bongobobny Posted May 2, 2011 Share #4 Posted May 2, 2011 If you want to go all the way to removing the cable and greasiong it, use white lithium grease for max lubrication, but I'm thinkiong the above suggestions should help out. You may want to loosen the clamps on the right switch and resovoir and make sure it is not binding up because of being too squished together...
