The Victory shop close by the house had open house with bells and whistles and opportunity to ride them. Rode the Las Vegas model. Standard engine - 100 cu in, 85 hp, 110 ft/# torque. This bike is not your father's Oldsmobile. With those 6 speeds and wide power band, that thing scoots. Probably weighs half of my 1st gen, but anyhow. I liked that the driver pegs were way forward. Felt more comfortable than what I am used to. Satisfying rumble - the group I rode with went past a field of cows - they scampered away. Hope it did not impact too much on milk production! Great acceleration, fantastic brakes, nice ride. Not sure I love the looks, but the performance is impressive. Handles great in the twisties. Does not have any instruments other than speedometer. The gears clunk pretty hard when shifting. At $17K not ready to trade in my 87 VR....but holy cow what a nice ride!

I know this question has probably come up thousands of times, but I'm on the verge of trading my 05 RSTD in for a Midnight Venture I found. Is there anyone who has went from a RSTD to a Venture and found pros & cons that can help me make a better decision? I love my RSTD but recently rode a friends HD Ultra Glide and my wife loved the added comfort and I really liked being able to listen to a radio. I also like the idea of the back trunk for helmets and stuff. I took my wife to a Yamaha dealer and she really felt good on the back of the Venture.

I rode my bike through one heck of a thunderstorm Tuesday night. I got home--put my bike in the shed and shut everything down. I rode it several times today and all appeared fine till I jumped on it tonight to return home from our county fair in the dark and found out I had no headlights--upper or lower beams--and I didn't have any instrument lights either. Everything else appears ok-I have my 4 ways and all tail lights and running lights and turn signals. Is there a fuse that could have gotten wet or something simple that may be causing the problems? Thanks for any and all help.

I was traveling on 377 north out of Granberry Texas today 6/23/07. A nice gentlemen pulled up beside me on a 99 venture and he spoke to me. I had ear plugs in , but I acknowledge, the light turned green, we rode of and got on 20 east and kind of rode together a while. I was late for an appointment and could not stop. If you see this post, let me know. Very nice bike you were riding.
